Wanyama and van Dijk both played in the Scottish League, so i wouldnt rule out players just based on the league.

And having watched all of them up here, I'd put Edouard closer in class to Van Dijk than Wanyama. He's got a higher ceiling than Dembele, too.

Edouard & Daka are imo by far the most promising striker targets we've been linked with.

I'd be over the moon with either
daka's agent said he's not interested... plus media reports klopp has been in daka's ear so probs future liverpool guy

He's apparently back from injury for Celtic's game tomorrow so will be interesting to see if he's in the squad

I can't recall Spurs ever having bought a player from Celtic ??? - I thought going way back there was some bad blood between the boards but I suspect that is long gone

Edouard had 19 assists last year, and easily switches around the front, drops deep and plays out wide with the ball at his feet - he can play alongside Kane. He's everything we're looking for, and would massively increase our options and talent level in the squad.

PSG & us get along very well - if the player is willing, am sure we can do a deal between the 3 clubs

scottish league meh no thanks.. Milik should be our top focus now that daka has no interest... people like this guy and habib would have good chance of just being busts.

Arguably the best defender we have had in the last 50 years we bought directly from the Scottish League (unfortuantely only played for us for 1 season, but he had an amazing season)

I love his numbers,... don't want to pooh pooh this but I think he'd struggle in the prem. From the little I've seen of him, pace and power aren't his strong suits. Great numbers and can obviously place a ball in the corners of the net,...

Hopefully I'm very wrong, of course.

It would be great to sign someone vaguely competent in the second striker role.

This could be a description of Harry Kane in his first few appearances until we all realised he was a god.

The 40% sell on clause is apparently based on ‘profit’ so will only count after the first 9m.

eg 30m would see Celtic get 21.6m and PSG 8.4m

As I briefly alluded to in another thread I’ll be inside the stadium next Wednesday working around Strachan, Hartson and some higher up staff so if we haven’t heard anything by then I’ll dig for info as best I can.

Celtic fans certainly rate him much higher than they did Dembele. He’s got great feet, composure and vision at an SPFL level, having followed him very tightly for several full matches ( last time I mentioned something along these lines on here re what I can see from my work, was around 2-3 years ago at a Scotland v Holland u-21 match and the player I was throwing praise onto was a young unknown Frankie de Jong ! )

Seems best for every1 involved if we call it a solid 9 mill then.

Ah So Levy would do a £17m loan fee with a £13m buy option next summer that's £10m in January. If PSG didnt love us before with the Lo Celso deal, they'll really love us now.

Wonder if we could strike another 'creative' deal like the Lo Celso one to help Celtic circumvent a portion of the sell-on fee? Probably does not help future relations with PSG considering it would've been the 2nd time doing it to them ?
Serves them right for fobbing us off with Aurier

Think it would be £17m refundable deposit if we chose not to buy. ;)

Just wondering who the last person was that we signed from Celtic?

I can’t think of anyone since we sold them Ramon Vega, seems a long time to hold a grudge!

we loaned them Robbie Keane in 2010 who did well up there, but I don't know of any player we have signed from them

People have been joking about this today but I actually think it may happen. It worked for the Lo Celso deal, assuming Edouard's sell-on clause is structured in the same manner I don't see why it wouldn't work again (though obviously that is subject to the terms of the contract itself).

I'm sure Levy would be more than happy to use this method again if it means that we pay substantially less than structuring it as an outright purchase would require in order for Celtic to get their desired fee.

I bet the PSG lawyers are still after us.

It's a sensible approach. What's a few million to the PSG owners. They've probably earnt that today since this thread has been created!

I’m very happy with the possibilities. Edouard would be brilliant. Daka likewise, although it looks like he’s staying. Leao is extremely highly rated by Milan fans and probably has even more potential than the aforementioned two. In general, I think ideally I’d like someone with the size and pace combo, this type of explosive powerful runner, sort of like a lukaku lite. That type of player would be amazing up front with Kane, and edouard and the others certainly fit the bill. More so than milik, who is a good player, but even in his good years this and last, he isn’t highly rated by Napoli fans, even before the contract dispute might of clouded some fans’ vision. I feel in our counter attacking system, and even in games where we take the game to the opposition, I’d like someone who can dash across the frontline with and without the ball, in and out of possession. Milik is a slow player in a slow league, so he’d be more of a plan b or “backup”. Him and Kane would probably work together, but there is no threat in behind, which is something our system could use centrally.
