Just seen a post stating:

"Looks an exciting player. At this point I would sell Bergwjn back to Ajax and get this lad in."

It got 3 disagree ratings. Reckon we'd all be happy if that had materialised.

I was totally against signing KK and look like an idiot now. How I wished we had got him back then.

When assessing targets from abroad I never have a clue.

I just read a few reports and stats and try to gauge opinion from people whose knowledge and judgment seems pretty good.

It’s painful reading quotes from Rubén’s old manager saying it was “almost a done deal”. I know it’s not quite the same level, yet at least, but looking back you can see these sliding door moments with transfer like Hazard and Suarez and this feels like it could end up being another. Who knows if Kvara will get to that level but the signs suggest he will be up there with the best.

One would hope we would, he certainly ticks pretty much every box for a wide player in this system. Like you say we have a long standing interest so hopefully we are still watching his situation.

Yes It will probably be tough to get him as Osimhen will likely go and Napoli are hardly strapped as it is but I still think it might be possible.

Like you say a lot of teams will probably be sniffing. Napoli have been an absolute mess this season and I’m not convinced they will sort it out come summer regardless how much money they have to spend. Seria A is extremely strong this season with a lot of teams that have been drifting recent seasons pulling their pants up like Bologna and now Roma under De Rosi.

Considering the financial position we are in currently I would hope we give him some serious thought as he would immediately elevate our front line quite significantly imo.

Yup that’s from a few days ago, the original article that it’s from suggest that figure could be up to €100 mil so £80 ish mil. The fact his agent is already talking about leaving gives the impression he isn’t happy about the direction the club is going. Obviously £80 mil will be above our price range, even tho I think we could probably pay it, but I still think it’s worth monitoring the situation. I don’t think there are many realistic options for him as most big teams aren’t looking for a LW at the moment and there are only a few teams that’s will be able to afford him. I know it’s a very unlikely one but I do think we should be watching regardless just in case an opportunity arises. For example I wouldn’t be surprised if they had interest in PEH, they have had in the past, and including a player in the deal might make a move more feasible.

I agree that we probably won't spend that much. It could happen though.

I'm of the view that we need 2 wing backs and 1 attacker to have 2 good players in each position.

We are getting the salary of Dier and Perisic off the books this summer. Gil, Royal, Hojbjerg, Rodon and Tanganga will probably all be sold.

We might be able to justify it.

Would have been no point in signing him. He'd have come in under Nuno and then Conte, been completely stifled in how he plays the game and more than likely sold on as he doesn't fit Conte's style at all.

If we have champions league, 80m is feasible these days. We need a top quality attacker and this is him. Levy has been putting his hand in his pocket recently so if we want to kick on, provided we get some players out we need to I can see a total spend of 150-200m hopefully with us get 50m ish in in transfers

Napoli 7th in Serie A now.

Go spend 70m or 80m on Kvaratskhelia than 50 or 60m on Neto.

LW has to be a big name game changer for me. No better & bigger than him. Neto for all the great work he does he is tier 2 for me + there is injury concerns

would be great but he’s gonna cost around £100m+ he’s on a long contract and Napoli have no need to sell. Especially with Osihmen leaving this summer for silly money.

We're not spending £80m+ on one player, unfortunately.

Even Ange said himself that he would rather 2 £50m players as opposed to one £100m player.

Our net spend the last 4 seasons has been around £150m, £130m, £60m, £100m.

I'm of the view that we need less players this summer in terms of quantity for the 1st team squad. 2 wings backs then 1 or 2 strikers depending on what we do with Solomon completes our squad at having 2 good players in each position.

We'll be losing Dier and Perisic off the wage bill. Royal, Hojbjerg, Gil, Sessegnon, Lo Celso, Reguilon, Spence, Tanganga, Rodon and Ndombele will all be looked to move on. Naturally we won't sell them all but I can see us finding buyers for several of them.

Depending on the success of our sales I wouldn't write off our possibility of spending that type of a fee on 1 player.

I agree with you completely.

But I was just outlining Ange's viewpoint on this and how he would rather spread the money around rather than buy 1-2 high-value players.

Also, I can't see ENIC sanctioning that amount unless someone like Kane magically becomes available in the summer.

I'm not so worried about ENIC sanctioning a fee. They've spent over £45m on the likes of Johnson, Richarlison, Maddison and Romero.

A lot will depend on how many of those players we can move on and the fees we receive for them.

Wing backs aren't generally that expensive. So 2 reasonable fees for the wing backs, £15m on Werner then the possibility of a higher fee on an attacker could happen.

As much as I want Neto, the guy just cant stay fit. I hope we go all in on Williams now.

Id love Bakayoko but I feel he needs another season where he is to develop first.

Agreed. Given his injury record I think we should steer clear. We might be missing out on a talent, but I think for so much money it's a risk we probably shouldn't take.
