But why two strikers when no decent PL team has has regularly utilised two strikers for roughly a decade?

I was trying to pick my best XI on the BBC / Sky website the other day and gave up as soon as I realised I could only select Rose and Walker as CBs or FBs, not wing-backs. When I selected a 3-5-1-1 formation (was the closest formation to what we play), the wide players looked like wing-backs, not RM/LM or wingers, but I could only select midfielders.

I wish I could say that was my most frustrating moment of the week...
