There’s such agenda against Winks it’s fucking unreal.
Winks is a better player than people credit him for on here and looks a significantly better player when he has outlets to pass to.

With Lo Celso and Lamela introduction, the movement from these plus that of Moura (all game) and Dele (once he decided to give a shit), thats when he played better.

With England there is always options to pass to.

Lately here at Spurs, with Eriksen' s no shows, Alli's blistering pace (...) and Sissoko or Dier as his outlets (ffs) it makes him look shit too.

Play him with good consistent midfielders with movement and you'll see a great player in Winks.

Gutted Eriksen started ahead of Lo Celso or Lamela. The change in tempo when they came on was great. Blatantly obvious now ....I hope.

I watched our shape and movement a lot today, rather than watching the ball, and when defending, we always left an obvious option available. At least one player (Aurier, Eriksen, Son) we’re just marking space.

When in possession pool never allowed us an easy pass out of defence, every pass was contested. It almost looked as if Dele, Eriksen, Winks were hiding. Their movement was appalling, FFS they only need to move 3 or 4m to be available to receive the ball.?

Man City did the same earlier in the season. We couldn’t even get a throw in to a Spurs player. Whereas we let them easily pass back to the thrower, and then give them time and space to pick a good pass.

Pool are arguably the best team in the world atm, and I saw some good stuff as well today. Tanganga was great to watch, so chuffed Jose has given him a chance. Sanchez was very good. Our last 20-25mins was also very inspiring. More of that please.

This did make me laugh Christian Eriksen playing this game with all the intensity of a man who has dinner reservations at 8pm, and doesn't want to have to have a shower beforehand.
Its a joke, if anyone else put that much effort in at work they would be fired, sell him ffs

I agree. He has an excellent set of skills, they just arent creating or defending. He is excellent at getting it and giving it, but he wont do anything with it, certainly not when he is playing the holding role. There was a moment when he had escaped a couple of pool players on the half way line and was heading sideways towards the centre circle. Son had pulled wide on the left and had space, he began to make a run in behind the fullback and just stopped. You could tell that he knew Winks wouldnt/couldn't find him with that type of cross field pass. That for me typifies not only Winks as a player but the impact not having a player in midfield who can regularly see and make those passes has on our team. It forces us to play 2 or 3 passes where 1 is needed which gives the opposition time to get into a defensive shape and cover the space.

I'll say it once more, we have some excellent players but until we buy somebody to knit our play together we will struggle.

Even buying somebody like Moutinho, just an example of the type of player we need, would make a difference. He can do what winks does but has the vision to make things happen.

It is so blindingly obvious.

It's been the same for ages. When the centre backs have the ball there is a gaping hole in the midfield because they just hide. They back away from the ball. Sissoko, eriksen and winks all do it. Ndombele doesn't. Lamela never does. Alli doesn't either to be fair. But it's been going on since dembele left. It's ridiculous.

8 - sanchez, tanganga
7 - gazza, winks, lamela, lo celso
6 - aurier, toby
5 - son, moura
4 -
3 - alli, eriksen, rose

Sad that many dont rate winks. Theres just an agenda against him. He played very well, using possession well. Unfortunately the goons in his team didnt help his cause

Lamela n lo celso despite playing only 20 minutes changed the entire match and hence deserves ratings

Lucas so much heart and fight. Sanchez and Tanganga awesome. It's a three way tie for me. And special mention for Lamela - has to stay, need his passion. And Lo Celso, really makes a difference, got to get that loan made permanent asap.

Sky sports match ratings are hilarious.

Gave our lot 5s and 6s, whilst giving their lot pretty much 8s across the board

I couldn’t work out their ratings at all. Not for Liverpool, but for us. Winks got the same as Eriksen! Absolute blaggers who actually don’t watch the game properly or who don’t know fuck all about football

Sanchez and Tanganga are going to be quite the pairing if yesterday is anything to go by. I fail to see the need for KK to be honest, if we can expect those kind of performances from Tanganga on a regular basis.

Jose is slowly but surely working his magic on this team, nothing to write home about yet but there is improvement and with a couple good signings in key positions we can have a proper push at top 4 this season, and challenge for the title next year.

Who else has he got? Lo celso missed a sitter.

Don't see what missing a sitter has to do with it. For a start, Lo Celso got himself into a scoring position that I don't think I've ever seen Eriksen in, even when playing at 10. Secondly, he showed for the ball consistently, tackled everything he could and generally looked like he gave a shit - all of which Eriksen failed at miserably. Lo Celso and Lamela changed the dynamic of the game and were instrumental in the phase you yourself decribed as Liverpool 'hanging on'. When Eriksen was on they looked like Dads having a kick around with a bunch of toddlers.

It was bits like (paraphrasing):

Gazzaniga - couldn't do anything about the goal, made some brilliant saves...6
Allison - had nothing to do...7

Also GLC and Lamela got the same 5s as Rose and Eriksen despite being the difference when they came on.

Typical sky Liverpool bias tbh

Eriksen and Rose were dreadful.

Moura worked hard but had little chance against VVD.

Dele was inconsistent.

Winks played like he cared and had quite a good game.

Our three CBs played well. Toby showed leadership qualities, Tanganga looked comfortable and Sanchez was quality.

Son was disappointing.

Lo Celso and Lamela need to start more- they made a huge difference.

Crazy Serge was a mixed bag

I agree with all of this bar Son who actually worked incredibly hard all over the pitch. Should have at least hit the target with that shot though.

Winks wasn't bad. He wasn't excellent as well. Just normal Winks game. Which is okay.

Our two best players were definitely Tanganga and Sanchez. I think Sanchez was better but as it was a debiut for Tanganga I have to give him some credit.

The worst, unfortunatelly, was Dele. He slowed down so many actions.

Jose feeling the usual anti spurs media shit, welcome to our world. Media Slagging us off for trying to not get hammered by the best team on the planet with all our problems.

But i believe his tactics were spot on and the best chance we had of ''nicking'' something ...yes nicking something at home is where we are atm and we must wake up and realise its where we are be it injuries, lack of form or bad management over the last year or so.

Jose plan was to keep us in the game untill the final 20 and then have a go, to try and do that from the start may have resulted in a spanking.

Team did ok, standouts the new kid, Sanchez, Moura

Jose has a big job here.

personally thought son was very poor, he was hardly even moving by the end and that's despite having a nice winter break. dele wasn't great by any means either but did come into the game in the last 20-25 minutes when we actually started to play some football and was always working hard the other way too.
