It's hard to judge the guy when he has barely had any minutes in the league, and zero under Ange who has overseen a massive upturn in performance in quite a few players. Hopefully he'll get a shot soon, and good luck to him.

He’s got lots of good characteristics let’s see how he looks if/when he gets a solid run of games on the left under Ange.

To me he definitely has the attributes to be a playmaker in the mould of Silva but with a bit more about him in terms of dribbling and speed.
Definitely a clever passer around the box as evidenced in his brief cameos with us.

Seems so unfortunately and as a result defensively whenever he comes on or plays we become weaker as well as his fairly ineffective attacking play.

Agreed. Barely had the the ball as well. Saying he's lightweight sounds like confirmation bias to me. We've all read and heard he's too lightweight, so it's easy to parrot that. No evidence of being lightweight on today's performance.

I’ll need to watch the game again but I thought he looked lightweight and got bullied off the ball at least three times.

I have doubts with Gil, part of me thinks his not physically big enough for the prem. Then I think of Lennon and how he was small and absolutely ripped it up so I don’t think I’m fully prepared to write him off just yet. That’s the very little optimism I have left.

There’s ability there. Like lo Celso really should be bringing him into the side or off the bench when the team is or at close to full strength and functioning well. The way these two have got minutes over the last couple of years hasn’t done anyone any favours.

Think he’ll work well against teams that sit off us, but Wolves were aggressive and the ref was offering zero protection to our players. Looked like a slight breeze would have whisked him away as well.

Lennon was short and solid - a quite different body shape to Gil.
