That's not quite right. The PL does not specifically prohibit the use of any particular number or set an upper limit, but the rules state "Save with the prior written consent of the Board shirt numbers shall commence with the number one and shall be allocated consecutively".

So the only ways CV could have 95 on his back is if we either allocate all the other numbers up to and including 94 to the players we already have, or we get the Premier League's written approval.

I am just in awe of what we've done in one window. Let alone a window in the middle of a pandemic. We basically overhauled our squad and really haven't had any notable sales... Bizarreoworld.

And in the grand scheme of things, considering the quality of players brought in, not really spent that much.

Massive props to Levy, incredible window even if we don't land Skriniar. If someone had told you in June that we'd sign Jose's first choice DM, RB, and striker plus Reguilon and Bale you'd have said it was an absolute 10/10 window. Regardless of what happens with Skriniar we've set ourselves up for success this season, beyond what anyone could have expected under the circumstances.

We have so many options tactically I'm absolutely buzzing

In top elite level sport with so many competitions (including too many internationals) it is important to have a strong squad which is capable of playing in various systems. We (and tv) demand wall to wall football and elite sportsman are not able to play in every game. Players become mentally and physically fatigued in that order which leads to injury and poor form. See the effects on Kane, Son, Dele, Moura, Eriksen, and so on. In rugby you have finishers, rolling subs in basketball, Ice Hockey etc.

So we need that squad and we need the laws changed so that we can have a bigger full squad bench to keep the players sharp and happy.

So it looks like he's schedule to have a medical today and we now have the striker/forward we needed (subject to a medical and WP).
It has been a very successful transfer market for us if we sign him and a CH.
