Take it to the documentary thread please guys.

Some of us haven’t had a chance to watch it yet.

The BAFTA's ceremony

Reckon will be more like a bloopers edition.
Along the lines of

Lamela showing he has a right foot by hitting corner flag whilst taking a penalty with it.
Ndombele eating a Bounty, and Dele calling him a ****
7 out-takes of Levy forgetting his lines in Mourinho's office
Vertonghen seen with Eriksen's wife in compromising position at Xmas party

Does Eriksen improve our squad? I’d say yes. Do I trust Levy to spend money on a similar talent? No.

If Levy’s one weakness is a touch of sentimentality then we’ve got to take advantage... we need to win something - I’ve supported Spurs since 1992 - 28 years, 2 league cups FFS... if we don’t win soon I fear we’ll lose the world class players we have.

With Mourinho in charge we have a chance... and I believe we have a better chance of winning silverware having CE playing through balls to Bale, Son & Kane... than wondering which Brentford player we signed is gonna make the grade.

If you need badge kissing and fawning from every player that pulls on the shirt then you’re just asking to be lied too.

PS. FWIW... if Eriksen only cared about money, why not wait 4 months, go on a free and coin even more in?

The answer is that he was that desperate to get out, which kinda makes everything fall apart despite my agreement with all of your above points.

I'm not sure how the player can make a U-turn like that.

His decision might not just be football based. The series highlights just how much their family life is affected by these moves. Its perfectly feasible that despite wanting out, he (or his family) miss the life they had here. Pure speculation obviously, but i wouldn't be totally surprised.

That shouldn't be in question, as it was clear in the documentary when Levy said "You understand that we'll match anything anyone else offers you - I don't want you to think it's a question of finances" and Eriksen says "No - it never has been".

I think he wanted to win things, but has perhaps realised he's not really going to have the same opportunities he might have thought he would.

Ive always held a suspicion that it may not have been football related TBH...

But, you’re right... my point was conditional on him wanting to return... I was really responding to the ‘don’t want him back’ narrative.

That's fair enough, but I imagine most are factoring that in.

In the documentary Eriksen made it abundantly clear that he wanted to leave Spurs. It wasn't even about money - he just wanted out of the club. Would we seriously considering bringing back someone who had that attitude towards the club only 6 months later? And for double the money?

For me it's akin to a break up after a long term relationship. While it's tempting, you should never rush to get back together at the first opportunity as, before long, the same old problems will arise and you'll remember why you broke up in the first place. Next thing you know you're miserable and things break down all over again. The only time it works is when there's been a long enough time for serious change to take place. Otherwise it's a terrible idea and it's much better to just move on and find someone new.

Not a perfect analogy but I think a lot of it applies to football. We'd be much better off looking forward and bringing in someone fresh who genuinely wants to be at the club and is on the up, rather than Eriksen who is starting to look like he may be past his peak and has a ton of history and baggage at the club.

Watching the documentary I honestly felt he has fallen out of football altogether. He talks about being a possession and an object - that isn’t a change from your club - that was very concerning from an industry perspective. It may also explain why he isn’t really doing it at Inter now either.
personally - I wouldn’t go near him now - which is a shame as somewhere in the past was a very very good player

You’re all right! I know it... it’s simply extreme frustration...

CL Final to scouring the Championship! The Sabitzer link was fun, but didn’t last... so I’m left with very tenuous links to two ex-Spurs who may or may not be past it and may or may not want to play for us...

I’m just being honest in that I’ll be more optimistic for the season ahead if we re-sign Bale & Eriksen than a couple of Bournemouth and Brentford players come 5th October.

Doesn’t mean I think it’ll happen... but here’s hoping!

If he's committed to the cause, of course I'd like him back.

Can he recapture the form tho'.

Shame he left, and appeared to down tools somewhat before he left. But he helped provide some truly magic moments also during his time here.

Players come, players go. Various reasons as to why. Doesn't overly bother me, I get over it and move on.

So yeah, I'd welcome him back, but like I say, can he find his form.
