Will always have a soft spot for Danny, not many characters left in football. However, injuries have taken their toll and he's been a long way off his best for quite some time.

Hope he can get regular play time for the toon and get his mojo back.

Poch may have been more patient, but Jose was never going to humour his bullshit for very long. Only ever one winner in that scenario, and it wasn’t going to be the guy who blabs to the press on the regs.

The one thing that cracks me up is how JM used to have the "Jose doghouse"(patent pending) where they don't get to play and get badmouthed by him in the pressers. Seems like he has moved away from that and has evolved to just selling the players that were the issue and keeping quiet about players who start shit or won't sign a contract. I am loving this, no bs from him no vendetta just get them out and bring someone who truly wants to be here and fight for a place and give everything they got for the club

Think he has learned that moving trouble makers on is vital, after Hazard and Pogba cost him his job

Far easier to move on a FB who’s been playing crap for a while though, rather than your most talented star player.

I have to say, in my eyes, some supporters have treated Danny appalling. In Poch's first season I remember him coming over to clap the away fans at villa. He got absolute dogs abuse by a hell of a lot of fans; really disgusting stuff and he looked genuinely upset. There were numerous times he would get called out and berated when he was far from the worst player on the pitch. If you treat a human being like that, you can never expect loyalty - it sticks with you.

He is clearly an emotional person and was probably more affected by the abuse he received than others would be. I can understand his lack of affection for the club having witnessed first hand the abuse he took. These guys aren't robots and loyalty to the club needs to be built, it never was in Danny's case.

Good luck to the lad and I hope he finds some happiness.

His midfield cameo against Arsenal at Wembley will always stick in my mind. He was excellent that day.

I hear what you're saying, he's given his all on the pitch and deserves respect and admiration for that, but at the same time his repeatedly slagging off the club in the press is arguably crossing the line of what is acceptable. Especially the Google interview, which was outright disrespectful of his teammates and seemed to contribute to the beginnings of a negative atmosphere around the club. Not to mention very likely being the source of an anti-Jose article at a time when the club needs to be pulling together.

He deserves our respect for what he's done on the pitch but off the pitch is a completely different story and I can understand the frustration toward him.

He pretty much said what we all thought in that it would be nice to sign some known players instead of the njies and nkoudous. He was correct and the fact Poch didn't kick him out said it all.

But he shouldn't have said it. It was unprofessional & disrespectful to his teammates & manager. He should never have kicked a ball for us ever again for it & undoubtedly, Poch was weak in that respect. Probably out of necessity
