He's an odd player because he took care of Antonio really well all game and then makes a mad header.

That's the whole point though, he had Antonio in his pocket who's in the form of his life and then scores a bizarre OG. Point is he probably won't score an OG like that again this season so I will judge him on his overall performance.

Was a freak own goal, I actually thought Sanchez had played well yesterday. People seem to be looking for individuals to blame rather than accept that the team as a whole were at fault for the collapse.

He's a mixed bag for me. Sometimes he looks the real deal, other times he looks shaky and lacking confidence which breeds uncertainty in our back line.

He has these moments. I felt he could of directed that header back where it came from today.

Remember against City he headed it off the bar lol (Mourinho chuckled)

Gave the penalty away last week. It's just we won these games so they're easily forgotten. Gave the pen away in the last minute against the Gooners at Wembley as well.

Yes defenders will make mistakes but composure with good decision making is what it's all about.

I've seen him play live quite a few times and have been impressed so I'm trying to be balanced.

As for today I don't think he played that well up until the OG. Just shaky looking again.

Be interesting to see if Mourinho can take him to the next level and iron out the inconsistency and that kind of unpredictable nature he has.

To much of a mixed bag especially considering this is his 4th season now

I really like Davinson, and sometimes he looks like a world beater. But those split second moments, his instincts can really let him down to catastrophic levels.

His stats yesterday:
1 of 2 tackles won
1 of 3 aerial duels won
3 of 8 ground duels won
Scored an own goal

It was his aerial duals i noticed most. Poor performance. Feel for the guy but its a ruthless game and sadly he'll struggle to make the bench when everyone is fit.

He had a bad start v WHU with mistakes and misplaced passes and his confidence evaporated. He was shaky and nervous for the rest of the match even though I thought he did pretty well apart from the obvious howlers.

I must of been watching a different game, West ham had 4 shots on target 3 of which came after 82 mins. Antonio went off because he was nullified and lloris was a spectator for much of the game.

My feeling with Sanchez is that I defended him a lot on here and against my mates and I'm struggling to do it anymore for the reason that a lot of my defence was based on him being young and able to iron out the mistakes in his game. The reason I struggle to defend it is that he doesn't seem to have improved from his first season with us. He can look solid for a lot of a game but then give away clear goalscoring opportunities. It is easy in the prem to look solid as a CB for 90% of a game because that's their role but the top defenders do not make the mistakes he makes at the frequency of once or twice a game as he does.

I've banged on about it for a long time but his positioning when going for headers always seems slightly off which results in headers going off at ridiculous angles. He'll have more games where he looks solid for the most part and people will defend it again and we'll repeat this conversation and that is the problem for me, the conversation repeats the cycle because he's failed to improved fundamental issues within his game after 4 seasons. Eric Dier should not be able to have spent 90% of the time Sanchez has been at the club in midfield and look more solid in defence if Sanchez is to be considered a first team defender at this club. He should have a wealth of experience in that role now and not keep making the same mistakes.

You can’t make that mistake yesterday and be a top player.

A total lack of composure.
