Mourinho is happy with his performances so wishful thinking.
To be fair Jose is hardly going to say he is not happy when he doesnt have any better alternatives at the moment, anyway, rather than do a lot of talking, lets see how much he plays when everyone is available.

You make mistakes, mistakes happen even when you're a top player. What you want to be concerned with is how often the mistakes happen.

It doesn't matter who we play at the back mistakes still happen, Everton game for example where Richarlison who should of had a hatrick and was made to look like messi. We need to defend as a team all over the pitch and the mistakes will rectify themselves.

You can't score own goal and be a top player?

We've just conceded to go 3-1. The match is turning against us.

He headed the ball into his own net under no real pressure. It wasn't just a poorly executed header it was also a poor decision to attempt to head it given he was facing goal.

Lastly this isn't his first mistake. He's error prone and has been since he joined.

Not good enough.

Its amazing to think, him, aurier and sissoko cost almost 100 million. What a waste, cannot crticise their effort which is always 100% but lacking quality and calmness.

The league seems to be too quick and high pressure for him and the other two, seem to have zero composure.

There is always a mistake in him unfortunately, if the aim is to finish in europa league places, he and the other two are capable players but to win titles, you need better.

Yeah but all of our defenders make mistakes for one reason or another so by definition we should get rid of all of them or maybe we should start defending as a team.

That's if you don't know how to take stats in the correct context.
And how does this stats in correct context shows that he played decent game, then he scored unlucky own goal which is the reason why everyone is saying he's shit?

Completely agree. Regardless of the own goal, Sanchez doesn't look good enough to me. And it's especially concerning when i see his name and Aurier's name on the same team sheet.

I see lots of attacks on Sanchez but there's a bit of unfairness. The own goal for example, he had to get his head on it as he can't let it go past him, if he had they'd have scored and he'd have been crucified for that.
Why though is nobody asking how the fucking hell their player was allowed to get to the line on the edge of the six yard box to put Sanchez in that situation? Really, how?
Why weren't they stopped outside the box? Why weren't they fouled on the halfway line every time they crossed it? I'm sorry but I'm not putting all the blame on Davinson Sanchez.

If Sanchez did not try to head it it would have been a goal anyway.. Aurier had switched off at the far post and Lucas was to blame for not tracking..

Whilst his performance was not great the own goal is not the big issue for me..

Because those stats only show a selected data of what actually happened in the match.

Where's the stats to show covering and anticipation for example? Which is why you need context with some stats.

I don’t really want to join the criticism of him and I’m not going to blame him for the own goal because there were chances to clear our lines which with a bit of composure we’d have easily done before the ball even came into the box.

What really does concern me with Sanchez is he struggles still with some of the basics. He misreads the flight of the ball on crosses and gets caught under it way more often than a defender with his experience should. It’s lead to goals in the past and has here too. I know sissoko was marking balbuena and should have done way better too but I think he thinks Sanchez has it only to be way under.

There is no perfect centre back, there will always be mistakes but Sanchez looks pretty shaky.

Our defenders aren't good enough.

Kane was world class yesterday and we still managed to draw with West Ham...that's how poor some of our defenders are.

Yeah that's the bit that concerns me, it's either the positioning or the misreading and he turns a simple situation into a chance for the opposing team. It's doubly frustrating because when he's getting his heading right, he's brilliant at it and gets good range on the ball, If he fixes that part of his game then suddenly we have a real player on our hands but it's been 4 years of the same problem. I can forgive him for looking shakey early in the game passing to the other team because he was on the left and looked very uncomfortable. One thing I will say, he plays on the left for Colombia and I remember the game vs England thinking fuck me maybe we should put him there however whenever we've put him there he's struggled.

He made a pathetic pass right to a West Ham player just seconds before the goal. No pressure on him at the time either, pure carelessness.

Ferguson knew that the most important attribute you need is a strong, winning mentality.

Tottenham have bought a lot of players over the last 20 years without really understanding their character first. Redknapp was good at creating balance in our squad (Scott Parker, Gallas, etc) and at the time I hoped Levy was learning that you need leaders in the dressing room.

Maybe Levy bought the players the manager wanted.
