Spurrific... Who are you referring to?
Never understood why we paid so much for him. What exactly is he outstanding out ?
He is reasonably speedy for a central defender but he consistently, IMO, fails to use his strength when it is needed. I can't see he has really progressed since he arrived.Speed and strength. Poch will make him better

IMO he has all the attributes to be a class defender though but it's what's between his ears that holds him back.
You look at someone like Maguire for example who some might say attribute wise should be the worse defender but he's calm on the ball, positions himself well, knows when to stick a leg out and when not to etc. These are the things that separate an average/good centre back to a great one.
That’s not down to Sanchez that’s down to trippier when he was hereI got a lot of stick saying I think Sanchez been awful so far this season.
Theres been alot of bad positioning, errors, losing ball in dangerous places. Cant see what some of you see in him.
Can he come good? Yes maybe. But im not a fan of letting him play until he does. He needs to be put on the bench, work hard and show himself next time he gets the nod.Our defense has gone from one of the best to the worst of the top teams.
I hate this notion that any player that is consistently criticized on here is being scape goated. I do think Sanchez was getting some unfair criticism but he does have about 1 big mistake in him per game. Everyone thought the second you picked Jan back in the center all would be well... and we still looked shaky overall, but to me thats 100% down to the midfield duo.He had a great debut season and imo has been solid whilst here
I think people are trying to scapegoat him for whatever reason but he shut down Aubameyang in the first half of the derby, second he had a tougher time but That’s down to a lot of factor not just him. I think experience will do him very well and I hope he doesn’t let any criticism get to him

That’s the thing Sanchez imo hasn’t been constantly criticised until this season. I think people need to have some perspective, he was very very solid in his debut season playing with Vertonghen whilst on the right side. He’s been shifted to the left for Toby and that’s probably where the mistakes are coming from.I hate this notion that any player that is consistently criticized on here is being scape goated. Why is any criticism, scapegoating?Yeah it's called scapegoating...we always have one - this season it's Winks and Sanchez, last season Trippier
Why is any criticism, scapegoating?
It's only scapegoating if there is unfair and an abundance of criticism relative to other players and the team in general.
This thread is about Sanchez, good or bad. It doesn't reflect the comparable situation vis a vis other players on the team unless someone wants to bring in that perspective.
Unfair criticism
