Trippier was a solid if unspectacular RB for us who did fairly well at times to step up when Walker left, but his final season was terrible. He made so many mistakes.

It shouldn't be difficult for Emerson to be an improvement on him.
Gosh he was so bad. I added it up at one point and his mistakes in big games that season cost us like double digit points.

Yeah that’s what he said, I can see how that could cause his poor form but not sure how that explained his brainless mistakes though.
What? His poor form was caused by the mistakes. Without the mistakes he was a decent player. He was never going to replace Walker but he wasn't brainless. Bloke played through injury for the club and still gets pelters. Same for Davies last season.

You literally have nothing positive to say ever. How do you cope being so negative all the time?

Hahaha oh dear. Trippier was god damn awful in his last season and cost us untold amount of points directly from his stupid mistakes. Having an injury does not excuse giving away stupid goals, you are just making excuses for him. Calling out a player for having a terrible season isn't being negative it's the truth.

The more i read about this guy, the more enthused i will be to watch him. quite a few teams attacked us down there left/our right. If he (or JT) solves the RB problem, it strengthens the whole right side of the team. that in turn will pay dividends across the pitch.

You're negative in all threads, not just talking about Trippier. It's sad in a way.

Having an injury and playing anyway should be applauded because he did it for the good of the team. Just because it didn't work out you lambast him.

Your posts history recently is actually pretty pathetic. If football/Spurs/something you can't control makes you so angry or irritated I'm not sure why you follow Spurs or football at all.

Depends on the situation, to be fair.
Playing through an injury that you are withholding from the club because you are selfishly trying to play more / making the XI weaker / not letting your cover cover for you is bad.
Playing through an injury because the club has no proper backup to cover for you should be applauded

And in this case he was asked by Spurs not to have surgery, according to various reports.

The manager selects who plays, not the players.

Why not out him in ignore of you don't like his posts. Attacking him over it really isn't good form ??‍♂️

Damn I really feel for the guy and see that the initial reluctance wasn't a slight on our club but something borne of a great love from childhood of Barca.

I hope we can welcome him into our family.

We seem to have a fantastic bunch of lads when it comes to accepting new players in to the group. I expect it will also help that the manager speaks his language and one of the biggest personalities in our squad is Brazilian. He'll also know Gio from Betis (I think they crossed paths for half a season) and will have played against both Gil and Reggie in La Liga.

Probably an emotional time for him leaving Barca for good, but I have no doubts he'll settle here.

I know it’s cliche but no one better than Lucas to make him feel at home. Nationality seems to play a big part in footballers settling, if they have someone from home with them it eases the transition.

But we know he's still a good player right? So why offload him? He's good enough for England, but not good enough for us... And we're still faffing around trying to find a suitable replacement after how many seasons? Aurier, Tanganga, Emerson... and we've played others in that position too.

He had one bad season. People learn from mistakes and become better for it, otherwise he wouldn't be playing for England and a team in Spain that won La Liga. We would've had a solid left back, decent at the back and going forwards, with a great delivery.

With this logic we should've turfed out almost the entire team from last season, but we're already getting excited because they look to be performing well again.
I guarantee you if Winks puts in a good shift this season, with all the potential twists and turns throughout, injuries, suspensions, etc., the typical fickle football fan will go from verging on hating him to singing his praises.

Have we ever not complained about RB?? Maybe Steve Carr was the last I dont remember us complaining about. Even Walker used to get plenty of stick.

Doherty - "All round poor"
Aurier - "Extra brain fart prone"
Trippier - "Cant defend & slow"
Walker - "Brain fart prone"
Hutton - "Generally awful"
Corluka - "Too slow"
Chimbonda - "Poor attitude"
Stalteri - "Slow & error prone"
Pamarot - "Worst RB we've ever had"
S.Kelly - "Not strong enough"
Taricco - "Error prone"

Even the top rated RBs at the moment like Trent-Alexander are not great at everything.

I'd be delighted if Emerson is just relatively solid and is able to deliver some decent crosses in the games that he is able to get forward in.

It was a while back now but I remember Carr being one of our better players around that time. Im sure we had far worse problems than RB during those times. But like I said it was a while ago so maybe we've always complained about RB.
