i would like him back tbh hes a decent player when not injured and we need a deep squad for due to champions league games
I’d agree, but I seem to remember that it was Conte that wanted him gone due to lack of commitment. Not sure there is a way back for him, especially as we’d likely get good money for him.

Should be atleast 10m more, can't help but feel we're having our pants pulled down here if the fee is true.

Feel like that’s on the very cheap side, hopefully keeping them sweet as we like one of their players

That's really low. Original tweet suggests we wanted 24m. I imagine there's a lot in bonuses in the deal.

Selling players we want to get rid of is always harder from a negotiation stand point. I’d argue our record sale from a player we wanted to ship is Trippier at €22m.

He's scored 2 league goals and has 4 league assists since 2019. He's not exactly earned himself a huge fee, especially with Villareal not being in Europe next year.

Take the money, clear the salary, move on. Would much rather have the certainty of him being off the books and 15-18m in our pocket than holding out all summer for an extra 3-5m. I think we probably got a bit in loan fee as well. Opportunity cost of holding onto him would be killer, and that small difference in price is pretty negligible considering our cash injection.

We just have to take the hit on him - at least we will get some money back which we can reinvest

If this is true, the only consolation I can take from it is that never under Levy/ENIC would we have let a player like this go for so cheap relative to what we bought them for, it's another indicator of a shift in policy.

"We can never shift our unwanted players because Levy demands too much money!"

"Why are we agreeing to sell our unwanted players for less money?!"
