We will never have this level of riches but when you think City last season or 2 had the likes of Guandoguan coming off their bench at CM, Liverpool had Henderson & Thiago, Arsenal now have Jorginiho, Man.U have Eriksen etc, we seriously need better than Skipp, especially if we want to challenge for the title this season and or from next season once we are back in Europe again.

He’s what our 6-7th choice midfielder when everyone is fit/unsuspended? Perhaps not the fairest comparison in that context.

But yes he didn’t look overly comfortable tonight.

Fair mate good points maybe not the fairest comparison but yea he’s just not good enough so being ambitious I’d like us to upgrade on him in Jan or next summer and tbh I’m pretty certain that Ange will do that, it’s just a case of balancing the homegrown issue/numbers.

He was a leader in our youth teams, brilliant for Norwich as a kid, and then made a positive impression for us before getting hit by properly shitty injuries. More than willing to give him time! 🙏

Another poor cameo. This system just doesn’t suit him. Hopefully we can get him a move to further his career elsewhere

I feel for Skipp, he didnt do as bad as others are making him out to be, yes his passing was off but that's expected for not much game time. He made some decent challenges and did his part for the team by covering ground and just doing a job to see out the game. For that I'll support him fully.

Just rusty like a couple of other subs. Need more game time to find the groove with the starters and he may come good. He's more progressive than Hojbjerg IMHO and that alone I feel he'd still have a future under Ange play. Looked how forward he goes and cover the ground. He may have opportunities to score with more attacking play given the game time in future like how Sarr scored against United that kind of movement.

He was a bit wayward with his passing but then what do you expect when not getting much minutes. I Love Skipp he just needs minutes to shake off the rust.

Being young if he can't get regular minutes then at the end of the season he should look at moving on for his own good. Tenacious fighter and happy to have him in the squad.

Still feel his best position is as a 6. It’s no wonder he looks a little out of sorts, as an 8 is not his strength.

His future will depend on if we let PEH go this January and don’t bring in a replacement. And what Ange decides to to with Bentancur. Who can play all 3 midfield positions. And play them well.

Then we have AFCON to contend with and the ASIA cup. Two of our best midfield could miss four games. And Sonny the same.

If Skippy stays, I think he will leave this summer, if we find an upgrade, plus we are back in Europe again.

Think he is absolutely fine as squad player, especially with jis club trained HG status.

Question rather is is he happy with this role. Can see him wanting more game time in the league.

I think Skippy is the least of our worries, he needs regular minutes though to shine and he's not looking like getting that with us.
I wouldn’t say he’s ‘the least of our worries’. In Jan Bissouma will be gone for 5 games, not sure if Sarr also. If Bentancur gets another injury set-back and we have to rely on PEH & Skipp for an extended period of time against better opposition our results will drop off.

We need another CM in Jan imo. There is a sniff of a title here a tiny tiny one but to dare is to do. CB & CM needed in Jan for me.

I feel that when pressurised he will often be dispossessed or give a wayward pass. I don't think that can easily be coached out of you. I think ultimately he will find his level at a different premier league club

I thought he did ok unfortunately the drop off when biss isn’t in the team is huge. For me Sarr, Hojbjerg and skipp are quite similar. Unfortunately skipps the weakest of the 3. I think he’ll have a fine pl career just not at top6 level.
