In that we went from cutting them apart at every moment to virtually nothing?
Not really his role though is it? He's a useful player to have in the squad until he moves on, not many teams will have better 5th choice midfielders.

Yeah agreed. Bayern might come back in for paulinha.Don't particularly mind him as part of the squad but coming off the bench or providing cover will not be enough for him which I completely understand from his point of view. On Postecoglou's side, doubt he'll be too fussed losing him if we replace him with a more mobile/dynamic option. He is not a natural fit for his system and Ange just seems to be so clear about the type of players he wants to be relying on.
I think we'll see some interest in him in January from EPL clubs if some pick up injuries or those who get dragged into a relegation dogfight. Whether he'll want to go is a different matter but he maybe swayed as can't see him wanting to hang around sitting on the bench with the Euros in the summer. Maybe even a late loan if he can't be sold and manage to get in cover.
We lose Bissouma & Sarr for circa 6 weeks in Jan-Feb, so would need a replacement for any CM we sell. Otherwise, we'll have Bentancur (assuming fit) & Skipp (currently behind Hojbjerg in the pecking order), with Lo Celso (suited to a more advanced role) as the only other CM option in the entire squad. White & Devine are gone and any other academy midfielders will be significantly less ready for PL football than either of them.Don't particularly mind him as part of the squad but coming off the bench or providing cover will not be enough for him which I completely understand from his point of view. Hopefully we can ship out hojbjerg then and go back in for a Gallagher type. Gallagher is exactly the sort of player I would expect Poch to like and he's started all four PL games so far this season.Hopefully we can ship out hojbjerg then and go back in for a Gallagher type. We need that mobility to break presses and get up and down the pitch.
I'm not convinced Poch gets to decide whether to sign off or not.Gallagher is exactly the sort of player I would expect Poch to like and he's started all four PL games so far this season.
I'm not convinced Poch would sign off on him leaving, or that he would agree to come here ithout being a guaranteed starter. Realistically, he'd be fighting with Sarr to be 3rd choice, behind Bentancur & Bissouma.
Would Chelsea really sell a player who is in Poch's starting XI, fits his system perfectly, is home-grown, and is young with a high ceiling? They must have circa 40 senior players on the books, so it would make sense to sell the ones that aren't key players. Selling him wouldn't just be a failure to back the manager...it would be actively undermining him.I'm not convinced Poch gets to decide whether to sign off or not.
Hence Gallagher "type". Doesn't have to be him just someone in that mold.Gallagher is exactly the sort of player I would expect Poch to like and he's started all four PL games so far this season.

They might be interested in him but I don't expect he's too interested in them!Galatasaray added Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Tottenham to its list!
Alleged interest from Turkey before their window closes.
Good for him, cracking attitude to have and well done Ange for not ostracising him even though he doesn't fit his team
There's nothing to spin. No one hates him they just prefer the team without him in it. No issues with commitment or application just not the same standard as other players we haveLooking forward to see how the haters will spin that statement - aside from the obvious lame joke about the pointing…
