And no doubt his own opinion will be a big factor; if he feels he needs time away he’ll get it, if he thinks training & playing will help, he’ll stay involved.He'll be on the bench. Whether it's depression, anxiety, stress... it's a difficult situation to handle. On one hand you don't want to throw them straight in and expose them to further intense situations, but also you don't want to completely cut them out and risk them feeling isolated.
I was signed off work for 2 months or so earlier this year. In a normal job you just take time out. I don't know how realistic that is in professional football.
I think we’ve got a manager who will be really good in this situation, as a human being not just his boss.
