I wouldn't know, I'm too young. Having a brief look, we signed Ardiles from Huracan and Villa from Racing - not exactly the same as plucking one of Juve's stars and one of the most popular footballers in the world to me, football also has a much broader reach these days with Instagram and all that shite - I'd wager Dybala has more social media followers than the rest of our team put together.

Having said that, I was still residing in my dad's nuts at that point so fucked if I know.

Sorry but Ardiles was the standout midfield player in the 1978 World Cup who along with Pasarella and Kempes won the World Cup. Dybala is yet to become the main man anywhere.

Don't be sorry, you just don't understand Dybala's stardom and standing in world football if you think you can reduce it to nonsense statements like "yet to become the main man anywhere". Especially when he absolutely was the main man at Palermo and then one of the main men at Juve (hence given the iconic no10, succeeding Del Piero) before being shifted by Ronaldo's arrival.

Anyway, this is Sessegnon's thread. I'm leaving it there, so anybody that replies to me is a virgin.

Is anyone else getting a bit worried that despite every man and his dog suggesting this is definitely happening, we've heard absolutely nothing of it? I know there were some suggestions about holding back the announcement to appease fans in the event nothing else happened, but with all the talk of Dybala, Coutinho, Lo Celso and Fernandes, it's just as likely to have the total opposite effect.

Yeah with everything else going on i hope Spurs aren't going to get to the transfer window checkout with their trolley and go ''Fuck, we forgot Ryan''. Seriously though, he's represented by the same firm as Kane and many other high profile players (including Spurs ones) so you would hope/imagine our relationship with them is very good and that things would go smoothly and quickly once we finally decide to pull the trigger.

Where do we think he will play if Rose stays? 3 Left backs ?

We have potentially 50+ games to play this season. It's about having a squad which we did not have last year. When city sign new players their supporters do not wonder where the players are going to play. They realise that you need at least two/three players for every position and formation.

Sessegnon would be the ideal benchplayer to start with. Can cover LB and forward roles. If we’re on top, get him on for half hour at LB to get up to speed, but if it’s a tougher game, he can provide dynamism higher up the pitch.
Would ensure he gets ongoing minutes.

That's the only one I think could be comparable, tbf - though Ardiles and Villa was before my time. Football has a much wider reach now though, and Dybala is one of the biggest stars in the game. Klinsmann was 30 when we signed him - and in the twilight of his career I suppose, signing a world star in his peak is in the same ballpark for me.

It wasn’t just Klinsmann ... Popescu and Dumitrescu also signed in the summer of ‘94 after the World Cup in USA.

So Fulham will have waited all summer for a higher bid and will in all likelihood cave to a £20m ish +- Ononmah number after all. Maybe even less. Stupid
