Alright, same as many, I've seen a fair bit of Aarons. Gets up and down well, my only reservation being his actual physical strength as result of his size.

But what I really want to know, considering alot of these RBs mentioned are supposedly to replace Aurier, can some please give a true insight into whether the player/s actually linked are actually better than Aurier.

I've seen so little of Celik and Castagne that I can't fathom whether this sees us improve or not.

Seen many saying Castagne would be great because he can play LB also, but also seen a few posts out and about comparing him to Trippier but without a decent cross.

Whilst I know there are said player threads, if some who genuinely have an insight to these RBs linked and how they compare to Aurier, and whether considered an improvement, hopefully it would be okay to post in the player they're supposed to replace thread. Namely this one.

Not seeking opinions from YouTube, but perspective from those that have watched these players numerous times.

TIA. (y)

Why is it always complicated when we try and sell players!!!
Simply put, Milan aren’t offering what we want for him. If they’re considering shelling out €35 million as an obligation to buy Bakayoko in a loan deal, then they can’t play hardball and offer buttons for our best right back.

By size do you mean height? He is taller than Rose, Aurier and Trippier and the same height as Kyle Walker if my quick google search is correct. If you ment his build then I don't really see what the problem is either because he looks pretty bulky for his age to me.

I dunno. I suppose what I'm getting at is he appears to still have that teenage kind of build as opposed to a man's physique.

I'd certainly take him, said for at least a couple of windows now that I'd take both their fullbacks. Great engines, but my only reservation being their physicality regarding strength owing to their age.

Of course they'll develop, just pointing out my own reservation.

There’s a difference between selling a 1st team liability and someone who’s consistently good.
Mate, I'm not Aurier's biggest fan, but he does have strengths, but also a first team 'liability' for a top 6 PL team is still a decent player for the vast majority of teams.

People here keep finding it strange how liverpool flops still get good money, but they still get good money because the perception is a liverpool fringe player is still very useful for teams not at that level. The same is true for us, Wimmer was sold for 18m, Trippier for 20m, Mason 13m, Chadli 13m, Bentaleb 16m, Pritchard 8m, Townsend 12m, Soldado 10m, Livermore 10m.

Some of those players, we probably sold for less then their value. Only Trips was a first team player out of them lot. But was Aurier worse this season than Trippier last? Like 13m is too low. 23m is probably too high, but that's how negotiations start. Something like 18m would be what we should be looking for, while accepting 15m in the right circumstances.

We absolutely should not be selling if we cannot find a player which suits us better for similar value.

Trippier and Aurier are both limited players but unlike Aurier, Trippier wasn’t crazy, injury prone or away at the AFCON and he has a very good delivery. Hence why he commands a higher fee that Aurier.

Based on this season - Aurier despite his assists has been abysmal more often than not with his deliveries. His defending has either been decent or atrocious. He struggles with muscle injuries and he was pulled up on 3 separate occasions for breaking the lockdown rules. He’s a bit like the Tasmanian Devil... he needs a sedative more often that not. The guy’s nuts as well as being a poor to limited footballer.

Injury prone? He has missed 5 games due to injury this season, Same as Trips the season before. Trips also played through an injury most of that season. Missed 9 games this year because they decided to operate him.

Tripps is considered one of the best fullbacks playing in Spain right now. Like, Aurier would be a very good fullback in Serie A and he is better than Conti, which went for 25 million. Like 18m is not a lot.

How is he nuts? Because he likes to have fun and posts on social media a lot? I'm sure a ton of people broke lockdown rules, is that something we're really going to use to beat Aurier?

He's a decent RB that has some lapses in concentration from time to time. I'd say he looked very serviceable under Jose, and if you gave me a choice between Trippier 18-19 and Aurier 19-20 I'd take Aurier for sure.

But they don’t know that.

] | AC Milan have now reached an economic agreement with Tottenham Hotspur for the transfer of Serge Aurier. However Maldini and Massara after careful evaluation the player’s exuberant character could now look to pursue other targets upon reflection.

Hmm. I'm sure they would have done their due diligence on him before making a multi-million pound offer. May be a negotiating ploy (if it's even true).
