Another thing with the buyback clause, we've got Sessegnon and Cirkin waiting in the wings. Bring Reguilon in, send Sess on loan to continue his development and deal with the buyback if and when it comes.

As long as the buy back clause cannot be triggered in the next 3 years then it’s a good deal. Even then who’s to say Madrid won’t have their eye on someone else or Sergio might not want to go back to Madrid.

Real have used a number of these clauses before and they haven’t always activated them for decent players.

Not if Cirkin develops into a top player in the next 2 years or whatever.

Sess is ONLY 20 as well, there is plenty of him to develop in to either a top winger or LB. Levy has to be considering that when considering this move IMO. Regulion helps us for the NOW, those two can develop for the future.

Well... isn't this exciting! SR looks top drawer. Cheaper than Chilwell.

If this comes off, then credit where credit is due.

Look at Bayern and Sevilla. The two winners in Europe last season each had players on loan from the Spanish giants. If it gives us a big boost, even if only for a season or two, we'll still have benefited in the end. And as you rightly say there's no guarantee they'll exercise the clause.

Buyback, although it means we would lose him means he was probably pretty damn good.

Plus there's a chance Madrid will probably spot another LB talent they'd rather have in their ranks. It's certainly worth accepting the clause just to add quality to the squad. Plus we have Cirkin and Sess to develop.

The advantage with Mourinho is that he's far more realistic about short term benefits of these things. I can imagine him convincing DL about accepting the buy back for the obvious advantages of signing a player like that.

EasyJet: hello, what can I do for you?
Spurs travel: hi, I’d like to book two economy class tickets from Madrid to London tomorrow. Is it cheaper in the morning or evening?

They have Ferland Mendy who is a massive talent. Hopefully they just don’t trigger the buyback, but that’s optimistic. However, if the do trigger it - hopefully Sessegnon and Cirkin will be ready and we get a Guaranteed profit

Dortmund do the buyback thing all the time - it makes perfect sense, especially when we're trying to make our money spread as far as possible.

Zidane is not a fan for whatever reason, not concerned about the buy back clause.

Now is not the time to allow that to get in the way, just get it done.
