Im not in the son thread because he's never given a million reasons as to why he was bad unlike TN. When hea shit. Its because he was shit. It wasn't because he combed his hair the wrong way. That's my whole point, most players aren't given the same protection that TN gets which is baffling.

That's why im in this thread because its a unique situation. I don't know why people just don't hold their hands up and say he was shit but hopefully he will play better next time.

Can't say I've seen all of the comments excusing him but I do agree that he was shit just simply because he was shit. Although (and not meaning to contradict that) yes I do think him being as bad as he was is also partly a result of how we were as a team, but that goes for every other single player too and that doesn't mean he didn't do poor things that he shouldn't have done regardless of how the whole team was playing. I just found it strange/harsh that you were choosing last nights game to validate or backup some sort of overview of him as a player in general, when it was (at least in my opinion) his first poor performance in a while, but I can understand if your vent is also directed at the people excusing him as opposed to solely him himself.

I think I need to clarify myself, he’s a very talented player but a few have got ahead of themselves with what he’s done for us so far. I’d be delighted if he tears it up but I’m doubtful that he’s the superstar we’d all like him to be.

I’m not Sissoko’s biggest fan but surely it’s clear why he’s in the side? It’s all about balance. There were numerous times Brighton broke through our midfield press yesterday and Sissoko was the player with the legs and desire to chase back and regain possession. Until NDombele and Lo Celso develop that endurance and desire Sissoko will always occupy a midfield spot in front of them.

I understand this.

My point is we need to find ourselves an athlete who is better on the ball if we want to be more competitive.

If we had bought partey instead of ndombele and Fernandes instead of lo celso, we would be really challenging now.

I think both have been massively underwhelming signings for their cost

Seriously, Ndombele is starting to show his class now.

Just have some patience ffs

Ndombele is better than Partey and Lo Celso is better than Fernandes in a role he is playing.

Lo Celso is playing a very similar role for us as Fernades plays for Yanited. Fernandes is clearly the better player, but Lo Celso has some potential to improve, and has a steel to his game that Fernandes will never have.

As for Ndombs, he has two issues that I think will prevent him ever really being a dominant force in our side. The first is that he plays like a circus freak, stretching his legs out at ridiculous angles and regularly ending up playing the ball while lying on the ground. Dembele always stood tall, and never moved the ball far from under his nose, but could still go past players like they weren't there, even at walking pace. Ndombs just doesn't have that at all. His style is likely to break his body before long. His second issue is his passing. He sees openings but almost always plays a pass straight to feet, and with a lot of weight. It puts huge pressure on his teammates in terms of their first touch. He rarely plays the ball into space for someone to fun on to, and when he does he gets the weight all wrong. He doesn't seem to have a natural ability to craft or weight a pass well, which is crucial to our style. I think we dropped a bollock when we signed him, sadly.

Apart from the fact that Lo Celso is playing more as an a 8, and Bruno is playing as a 10 yeah, very similar role.

Partey is pretty average, usual over hyping of an Arsenal signing.

they raved about Xhaka at first. NDom on the other hand will only get better and better

our problem seems to be we play down the wings too much and not through the middle. That space is always squeezed out by the opponent to nullify our central threat with Kane dropping deep so often to create. This in turn means we bypass Tanguy often as frustrating as that can be.

Partey is a very good player.
Ndombele though is totally a different style type.

Jose current style of play is predominantly high wingbacks and counter football. With Hojbjerg sitting deep. I think Ndombele is good enough to play a number of roles in midfield however in our current system I'd like him a bit more deeper on the ball more with Lo Celso further forward or alternating between.
In some cases Dele if he can change public opinion and get to the level of consistency he would be ideal as the box to box player in a 3, we could play Lo Celso Dele Ndombele.

Partey is a very good player, he also a very different player, comparing him to Ndombele is wrong.

Other teams are allowed to have good players too, no need to dismiss them just because they play for a team you don't like.

This is your opinion but damn you are so wrong, it's impressive how you can watch him play and come to this conclusion.

I’m a huge fan of Ndombele but as son as he got hurt today, I knew he would be off. I also think when Kane drops deep he takes the space where Ndombele can do his best work.
