Partey is pretty average, usual over hyping of an Arsenal signing.

they raved about Xhaka at first. NDom on the other hand will only get better and better

He definitely isn't average. Really is going to be a top talent

Average today, 28 games for Spurs only played 90 minutes twice. Look, I appreciate that we’re all desperate for him to do well but there must be doubts. Not chosen for France, Sissoko was, it might be time to adjust our expectations.

He was average today. Showed some nice flashes of what we know he can do, but struggled. I really want to see him given a shot alongside Hojbjerg tbh.

Created a couple of great chances and easily could've had two assists today (sadly Son and Kane failed to capitalize).

Edit: imagine disagreeing with those obvious facts :playful:

Looked great at times today, and really sub-standard at others. I'd still have him starting every possible game due to him simply being able to do things no one else can do. Nicely set up a chance for Son in the first half and a chance for Kane in the second, but his passing was wasteful at times, particularly in the first half.

Everything we did good came through him whilst he was on the pitch. That is not to say he can’t be frustrating as he has so much talent that we want more.

I just don’t think he should play so far forward.
Yeah, was another example of we weren't able to get him the ball enough. He's so dangerous in transition as shown a few times today that he needs to be picking up those balls from deep.

Gets no service from Sissoko. We need a triangle of PEH, Gio and Tanguy in midfield as soon as Gio is 100%. All three can actually receive a ball under pressure, control and pass it forward.

Sissoko offers absolutely nothing except chasing the ball around and passing backwards and sideways.

Spot on. He's clearly a talent but room for improvement with his performances, but was a tricky game today.

BUT absolutely HATED how he went down like he'd been shot and like his ankle had been broken when the WBA player had basically trodden on his toe, sure that is pretty painful i've had a few of those challenges playing football and its not nice but the over exaggeration was embarrassing, if that was an opposing player i'd be going mental and he's done this kind of thing before moreso last season where if someone blew on him he'd roll around as if he'd been shot, he needs to toughen up its pathetic.

Sorry for the rant but absolutely hate this kind of behaviour from players.
Good that he's getting more minutes in his legs.

I actually thought he looked a lot fitter today, was closing down more urgently and more sustained.

Some delightful pieces of play as well after starting slowly.

I think Mourinho will never play with Gio and him. In the event that it is so, against powerful teams I would put Gio for his work rate, and with teams that defend Tanguy, since he is a better passer.

He literally said "whilst he was on the pitch", which you conveniently decided not to bold.
Yes, his sentence was ambiguous, so I bolder the bit that I was referring to. Without a comma after ‘came through him’ the implication is that all our good stuff only came through him and only came while he was on the pitch. My point was that our goal came neither through him, nor while he was on the pitch.

Today has turned weird...

He's playing as a no10 and I don't think he w played there before at Lyon nor does it suit his skill set. Jose clearly doesn't trust him playing the Sissoko role which is where he should be.

I just want to see him and Lo Celso playing in a 4-3-3. If we're going to continue playing 4231 then might as well integrate Alli back into the team.

Wouldn't play him that high up, just like how you'd never have played Dembele that high up.

How do you know how bad it hurt him or not. I don’t like play acting but you’ve no idea if it hurt or not and for me he didn’t seem to be trying to get a player sent off
