For the first 10/15 minutes before the influx of subs I thought he looked very good.

After that both teams made lots of changes and the game was scrappy and disjointed.

Just delighted to see him play. I know he's quality, and will have no worries if he starts V Saints.
It's a strange one actually, he's way too good to be on the bench for that game, but might end up there.

I know it's a squad game, so will get plenty of minutes, but it's an interesting call for Conte

I hope he starts vs chelsea. I want as many players on that pitch who don’t have some weird mental block about beating them. Kulu, Benta, bissouma, perisic, lenglet all won’t fear them.

So true - because it's obvious several others in the squad do.

We feared no one last year: we did the double over City, and Liverpool couldn't beat us....but when we played these guys we just didn't turn up, at all, ever. It was weird

Yup, the injury issues didn’t help and contes comments but I hope before this game he comes out and says we are better than them now

Their preparations are not exactly going to plan as well so they’ll be there for the taking that early in the season. Literally all we have to do is show some bottle and we’ll do them.

How refreshing is it that's it not us for once with gaping holes and uncertainty at season start? The amount of points we've thrown away over the years...

Who would he start alongside? Hojbjerg is playing a fair bit in pre season so I get the feeling he will start. I still think we'll start with Hojbjerg alongside Bentancur because they know each other well now. When we played Chelsea 3 times in a short space we were still forming this new partnership. No reason we can't start the team that played away at City and Liverpool to get the result at Chelsea. The only change I would make is Perisic at left wing back and Lenglet if Davies is not fit. Bissouma will prove vital but I think it will take a few more weeks for him to adjust to the team. I think the team at Rangers is a big indication of who will start the season and will be against Roma.

Its even nicer knowing that the team that was performing at the end of the season is still here in its entirety. This time the new signing can have some breathing room to hit the ground running. I have high hopes for Bissouma but its nice knowing that realistically if he performs better than winks our team is in a better position than last season.

What I like about Bissouma is that actually his presence adds an extra layer to our attacking game.

With Hojbjerg and Bentancur (and also Skipp) they are not as capable at covering the width of the pitch defensively when needed however Bissouma has the ability to do it (a bit like Kante). This means the CM partner can be more attacking and get up the pitch more easily. This is why I think we'll be seeing more of Hojbjerg and Skipp with Bissouma and not so much Bentancur.

If he performs better than Winks???!! Surely that's a given?

Has anyone seen any news on him after he seemed to be limping off at half time against Roma?

Might need a bit of time to get used to Conte's tactics and new teammates and a run of games to find his rhythm but I think we have a serious player on our hands here and see no reason by he and Bentancur won't end up being our 1st choice CM pairing this season.
