The linesman flagging says it’s not through. Keep your flag down, let VAR do it’s job.

You can understand why it happens occasionally though. Linesmen have gone their whole careers flagging every offside, now all of a sudden they're meant to keep them down in certain situations. Occasionally that instinct to raise them will kick in, especially if they're still officiating in other divisions with different rules.

This linesman is watching his career flash before his eyes.

It's okay to flag AFTER the goal has been scored IF you think it was offisde.

It's NOT OKAY to flag when you're not sure and play is continuing.

Two prime examples of why the public have no idea what the current rule is/should be.

Newcastle goal - onside but linesman flags for offside.

Arsenal goal - Luiz clearly offside, flag stays down, VAR rules it out.
