I used to have a system of not even looking at the table until ten games in. Because before then it really isn't at all accurate in being able to make much out of it. Sample size is simply too small to really see a pattern. This season I'm checking it way too often.Against West Ham at around 80 minutes I committed the cardinal sin of looking at the table and admiring how good it looked to see us in 2nd place with a goal difference of +10.
No wonder it all went to shit.
Both Newcastle and Wolves struggle to create clear cut chances (Newcastle, 20th, with 2.4 shots on target a game, Wolves, 18th, with 3). This is going to be a slog isn't it...
