Was never about Liverpool dropping points today - more about GD betterment.
.
Those two points dropped last week would have meant so much.

What are you on about? Palace away is a tricky fixture for any side.

By your logic Fulham and Brighton was never about dropping points but about their Goal difference?

Palace’s defenders just standing and watching - we really fucked up by sitting on 1-0 against this lost last week. Their defence is crap.
Yep. We had them where we wanted them and were playing through them well enough, that drop off of pressure cost us.

We need to stop being cautious in some situations. If you asked me what the score would have been last week after we scored the first, I'd have said we'd go on to win by 2 or 3 because we were getting in some good positions and moving the ball around their backline well enough, I saw gaps in their defence too.

I've praised pretty much everything Jose has done so far but when you come up against a team (in a title challenge) who will pick up a large majority of points against the weaker teams you really have to crush teams when you have them on the back foot.

There's no difference in sitting on a 1-0 lead and pushing high to pressurise teams, you can still concede an equaliser in both situations.

Liverpool are playing without one of the best attacking forwards, central midfielders, and central defenders in the world today and they will comfortably win this and most likely stroll in their next 5 matches, too. Their confidence level and the number of players they have that can score goals and create makes them difficult for anyone to beat over a 38-match season. The only way a team can challenge them is by their confidence being dented and a challenging team riding a wave of momentum. Fortunately for them, no team has momentum currently, so they're probably in a good position to open up a 10+ point lead on the league by February 1st.

They're what we can't do. Liverpool have been dire, no control of midfield, Palace should've scored 3 with a modicum of composure - 0-3.

It's about matching /bettering their form until we play them at the end of January. Very tough ask.

This isnt about Palace and we cant continue to say oh such and such perform this way against others but against us they perform better... there is a reason why at times this is the case - because for 55 mins we sit back and let them do it... simple.

We would have beaten Palace and in my view we would have battered them if we played the way we can and showed in the first half hour and last few mins...

It'll be tough for any team to keep in touch with them when they are so clinical.

Reckon they'll win the league quite easily this year again.

So frustrating how unlucky we were to play Palace when they were allowed fans. It really gives them that extra push and it's a horrible place to go. This wouldn't be 3-0 with them there. But credit to Liverpool, they are taking their chances. Still a long way to go in the league and we need a win tomorrow to show we are still in contention with competing.
