I think Dyche could do as much as he can and Everton will still struggle to score many goals. Calvert-Lewin is about the only player they have who will score goals and I doubt he'll play a handful of games between now and the end of the season.
Oh no I am not putting any blame on Dyche whatsoever. He came in, Gordon was sold and they didn't bring anyone in. He has been given a near impossible to task to keep them up. Calvert-Lewin is very injury prone and if he is out, they do struggle massively (even more so now Gordon has gone).

Apparently Toney has admitted to several of the charges brought upon him and a verdict probably isn't far off. But this makes a good point.

I don't know that its a "good" point.

Sporting leagues do not want players involved in betting simply because it creates a heightened risk that they could influence the outcomes of games in a non-sporting manner. Even if they are not betting on their own teams - a player who finds themselves in debt to a bookie, could be "persuaded" to affect their own games to pay off debts.

The point is don't promote or advertise something addictive and then pretend to be up in arms when someone gives in to their addictive tendencies

I may be wrong, but I don't think there is a rule against betting in absolute terms......isn't it just betting on football, and in particular matches that you're involved in? .......if footballers want to gamble, then there are plenty of other things to gamble on other than the sport they are closely involved in - it's a bit like insider trading in the share market!

Whilst I agree that advertising gambling shouldn't be allowed in sport, I also think there are two separate issues here........morality and credibility.

While that very legitimate reason does exist. It’s also worth remembering that the betting companies also don’t want footballers (or their associates) betting using their inside knowledge of the game. For no other reason than it costs them money. See Kieran Trippier as an example. His ban was particularly egregious imo.

Gambling adverts should be banned pre 9pm watershed and certainly shouldn’t be allowed in sport.

This is true - but I have no sympathies for the betting companies themselves.

And, any "inside" tips that help people win, are well overshadowed by the amounts people lose. The odds, as they say, are ever in their favor!

City game is a double whammy for us. Need them to win to keep Newcastle at bay and catch up with Arsenal, who will surely beat Bournemouth.

They're gonna lose thought, aren't they? Fuck me, I hate what Spurs has done to me and outlook on life...

Doublethink the double stink.

Just hoping we can scrape a win so I can watch the Liverpool/United game on Sunday with little stress. A draw/defeat for us and win for Liverpool would start making things look a little scary. However a win for us and a draw/defeat for Liverpool would put a bit of daylight between us, with a generous fixture list coming up.

Best we can hope for after today is that it’s still just a 5 point gap between the top 2. Get to the start of April with just that gap and I’m confident City will pass Arsenal at the end with Arsenal’s tricky run in
