Think that's probably the right decision but why take so long? He was obviously offside and obviously affecting play wasn't he?

but after the Rashford one against city anything's possible
I say it again and again. But sending the ref to watch it on the telly is such a waste of everyone’s time. If VAR see it as an issue they should just rule it out. The only thing the whole tv on the side of the pitch does is massage the ego of the on field ref.

Thats what I love about VAR, you see the score as 2.1 and go oh ffs. Get up and let dog out for a piss. Sit back down and its 1.1. Marvellous.

Presume they're saying offside because he was offside when the initial Newcastle pass was made. Haven't got the sound on. 🤷🏼‍♂️
I don't see why they'd call the ref to go and check the monitor if that was the case. The only thing I can think of was they wanted to put the decision in his hand as to whether Felipe played it deliberately or whatever.

Would have thought offside is something a ref never has to go to the screen for?

Just when I was beginning to understand it..

He's offside and interfering with play, the ball ricochets back to Isak

But he wasn't interfering with play initially and then the ball is played to him by a defender.
I'm clearly wrong as it was given as offside, but I don't understand the rules any more.

I quite like Tierney half the time but then he drops a clanger.

But absolutely right to give Johnson the old "get the fuck up" there
