Ahahaha...That's a good un.

You think Spurs are priced the same as Man City to buy?

No?

I was suggesting that a London club not geared to the hilt is a much better prospect than either Newcastle or Manchester City, so why aren't stories flying out left, right and centre about our potential suitors - when in fact Manchester City and Newcastle are and were permanently linked? Is that possibly because they were and are in the market to sell and we are just simply not?

No. That couldn't be it. Not rational applied logic. No. Sorry. My mistake. hE mUSt wAnt TO SelL! TELL ME!!!!1!!

You couldn't make it up, you absolute ocelot's spam purse. Sorry, I missed Animal Fanny Tuesday so you'll have to forgive my outburst.

Your logic, is hilarious. Because we haven't sold the club it proves we are not for sale?

"Phhheeeeeep!" I call full time on your shenanigans.

Have you been watching the news? Newcastle's owner was forced to sell. They have threatened his kids etc etc. He mentioned it in a statement.

So call me nuts, but that would, just maybe, suggest they are for sale and accepting suitors.

Ive got a question for Levy: Why when I order the home shirt from the shop, does it take 8 weeks to get to me, thus meaning I miss wearing it during the awesome pre season and it turns up when we're bottom of the league after 4 games?
Great timing!

No. The fact we are not for sale, is the bit you need to take notice of. The fact that before all of these takeovers, and before Ashley wanted to sell, the talk was rife about almost every club in the hunt for a sugar daddy. Yet, where were Spurs? There have been no rumours, no smoke, and definitely no fire with regards to this - people with their ears close to the City have heard nothing, yet have heard things regarding many other clubs.

I'm just looking at the facts as they are. The fact that Levy and ENIC keep re-investing is a sign. The fact that he wants to build a new stadium to house more people to turn more profit is also a sign.

What you choose to ignore and go on your blind moose-headed rants about are a load of opinions backed up by nothing but dislike for our current situation.

What are you on about? Just what are you on about? Does that have anything to do with what I was saying?

Personally I think Levy is pretty damn good.

There is nothing wrong with the club spinning news and not saying much. Many football fans arent up to handling the truth.

And if you look at our team, it now has genuine potential. Our midfield is full of young, talented players, our defence just lacks one major centre back, and our forwards....well he should have done better there.

But overall, we are improving, appear to have a decent model for business, and we are actually making a profit.

As you know so much, can you answer the following questions

1. How much are we for sale for, because I can't remember ever seeing Levy come out and say we are for sale, let alone quoting a price.

2. What has the collapse of lehmann brothers got to do with Spurs?

If you said Bear Sterns, as least there would be a tenuous link, as Joe Lewis lost a lot of money on that one, but Lehmann brothers?

The super-rich, those currently looking at buying football clubs and not your joe average multi millionaires, are not affected by the credit crunch.

My understanding is that he lost a third of his fortune in that collapse, about a billion US dollars (£600,000,000). Yhat surely had sn effect on Spurs this year?

All the little business studies kids, Jargon. If being bottom of the table is 'improving' in your world - well bugger off and support Arsenal!

Question:

Was Spurs ever up for sale? because I remember reading some time ago that Ambramovic actually came in for Spurs but choose to buy Chelsea instead, also I'm quite sure the was another rumour about another take over.
The other thing is being a PLC how easy is it to sell?

Anyway my overall feeling is the messy transfer window and the poor start is causing the panic mongers to raise their heads and if it makes them feel better who are we to stop them. I quite sure we've all had negative feelings given our position and the natural thing is to look for someone/something to blame

It think that Abramovic story is a load of bollock to be honest but in regards to the club being up for sale.

Someone made an interesting point the other day pointing out that as a PLC you are pretty much up for sale all the time as if you wanted to start buying shares you could.

Yep, Lewis did lose about £600m of his own money on the Bear Stern collapse.

But it has no impact on Spurs. Joe Lewis has not spent a single penny of his own money directly on Spurs, it's all through Enic. If he was like Abramovich and funding Spurs through his own money, via an interest free or favourable interest loan as Abramovich has done with Chelsea, then yes, there would be an impact.

But Spurs do not fund anything through Joe Lewis, never have, so there should be no knock on effect.

Enic, of which Lewis and Levy are shareholders, get their money back on their investment in Spurs through a management fee and through dividends, plus Spurs pay Levy's wages.

Lewis lost money on Bear Stearns, but the Tavistock Group which co-runs ENIC is a totally separate and sustainable entity. Think of it as your managing director losing half of his bank account, it wouldn't impact on the company you work for at all.
