Oh shit, Stoof called me out on my lack of business knowledge. I know, *types www.bbc.co.uk; clicks on Business; reads headline*, this will fool him: "a topical headline". I'm so smart. S-M-R-T.

spurs are too expensive however, and now with the collapse of lehmann bros also, things are not going according to plan for levy n co.

at least we have 16 or so good players.

As you know so much, can you answer the following questions

1. How much are we for sale for, because I can't remember ever seeing Levy come out and say we are for sale, let alone quoting a price.

2. What has the collapse of lehmann brothers got to do with Spurs?

If you said Bear Sterns, as least there would be a tenuous link, as Joe Lewis lost a lot of money on that one, but Lehmann brothers?

The super-rich, those currently looking at buying football clubs and not your joe average multi millionaires, are not affected by the credit crunch.

old news.

Finally you are correct. It is old news, because in it the gang of four included Martin Jol. Now it includes Juande Ramos instead.

But assuming you have read the article, how come your comments on the way our transfer procedures work are completely consistent with someone that has not read the article?

Spurs are for sale otherwise we would be starting preseason with four decent strikers and 4 decent centrebacks, 3 decent defensive mids, and keane and berba on the sidelines with their futures being negotiated.

I'm tempted to rep you for comedy value.:clap::grin:

LOL

Last season: Berbs, Keane, Defoe, Bent.

We WERE for sale then (as we always are as a plc). Point proven. SHHHHHH

Spurs are for sale otherwise we would be starting preseason with 1) four decent strikers and 2) 4 decent centrebacks, 3) 3 decent defensive mids, and 4) keane and berba on the sidelines with their futures being negotiated.

spurs are too expensive however, and now with the collapse of lehmann bros also, things are not going according to plan for levy n co.

at least we have 16 or so good players.

1) There weren't many decent strikers who wanted to come to us. We're not in the Champs League afterall, and we don't pay stupid wages because it's not financially viable for the club. We tried to get Arshavin but Zenit messed us about. We did, however, spend £14million on Pav - not exactly peanuts. Let's watch this pace in January.

2) This was a major problem I feel, but you have to ask the question, who was available? Dunne didn't want to come to us and there weren't that many more CBs out there that would have significantly improved our current squad.

3) Don't take the piss; 3 decent DMs? It's hard enough to get 1 in - there's a real shortage in that position world-wide. We tried to get Veloso, but he wouldn't come. Again, we're not in the Champs League and he's a great player. He knows that sooner rather than later a mega-club is going to come knocking for him. In the meantime, why should Spurs waste money on a second rate DM?

4) Keane and Berbatov wanted to leave, and Levy pragmatically thought that he'd get a good price for them.

However, it's a catch 22 for Levy. On the one hand, if he sells players and gets a good price, he's a money grabber who's looking to make a quick profit. On the other hand, if he sells and gets a crap price, he doesn't know how to run a club.

Of course Levy could never, ever, be an astute business-man with the interests of the club at heart. That wouldn't give moaning fans anyone to vent their frustrations at.

Sorry, I thought we were bottom of the league with 1 point in four games. Clearly I was wrong and everything is hunky dory and we are doing well this season.

I think the main criticisms in this thread were aimed at Levy

I think your points are really reserved for Ramos, Poyet and the squad

You then have to ask why clubs like Newcastle and Manchester City are permanent sources for take-overs, yet a club with its books in shape in London isn't the first club on everybody's list? [I give you the actual answer: it's because Levy doesn't want to sell].

But then if you ask that question and get that square-bracketed answer, I fully expect your brain to explode in some sort of mess, and that's like a health and safety hazard, man.

Ahahaha...That's a good un.

You think Spurs are priced the same as Man City to buy?

I think questions for Levy thread is a good idea but I don't think your questions are really that helpful apart from if your trying to wind up Stoof and SS57 !

I would like to know

Do you have a price in your head that if someone offers x amount for the club you will sell at?
What exactly happend with Berbs? were you really backing you manager and selling him as he was a disruptive member of the squad or did you only sell as your valuation was met?
Has every player got a price you will sell them for?
Arshavin, what happened how much did we offer and how much did they want ?
Do you have spys on Spurs community ?

I want answers from Levy as its impossible to know exactly what happening and who is possibly to blame without know the whole truth.

Christ. On. A. Fucking. Bike.

I'm not coming back into Spurs Chat until we win a game. There are just too many fuckwits.

Mind you, if we do win a game I expect to see a flurry of "Top four here we come", "Pav is better than Berba****", "Spurs cure cancer" and other equally silly nonsense.

Don't listen to Stoof. He don't know nuffink.

I can confirm from my inside source that the collapse of Lehman Brothers will mean financial ruin for ye olde Spurs. My source has a high profile job answering the phone at a Barclays call centre. He never gets these things wrong. Promise.

Some questions I would like to ask the spurs board:

Before the wheeling and dealing started we needed an experienced centre half a midfield leader and a left winger. Where are they?

Giovani and Bale can both play left wing, with danny rose hopefully also looking to push into the starting 11. We tried for capel, but del nido wanted more money from spurs even beyond his release clause because of the way we took Ramos. We signed Modric who has shown he has the quality and ability to dictate and control a game, we have yet to see the best of him.

Steed Malbranque and Robbie Keane were our best players last season and were both sold - why?

Keane handed in a transfer request, you cannot keep players who have no will to be at the club. In the above question you ask for a left winger, this is where malbranque was being asked to play, if he stayed, he would be nothing more then a squad player - so silly question really

The season starts middle of August, why are members of our FIRST TEAM bought after that date?

This is out of most managers control, this is not Football Manager in which you bid fake money for players and fake contract agreements. This is real life, things are not as easy as you think, perhaps you should do levy/commoli's job, we may just have ended up with £25 mill for berbatov, £12 mill for keane, with heskey and crouch as their replacements

Why have we not given squad numbers to 4/5 players? (Rocha, Boateng, Taraabt etc)

Quite clearly they are not in Ramos' plans, and as soon as a suitable offer comes in, they will be gone.

In the space of 8 months we have signed 3 right backs and 2 right midfielders why?

We have signed 2 right backs, with a further player who can fill that void if need be, Corluka's natural position is CB however. Bentley is the only right midfielder we have signed

Why was Martin Jol sacked?

He was undermined, his departure was on the cards before the season had even started. It had nothing to do with our start to the season, Ramos was tapped up as his replacement 2 games into the campaign. Quite frankly, Levy / Commoli had no faith that Jol could take spurs any higher then 5th.

How long before another knee jerk reaction and Ramos/Commoli get sacked?

Only Levy knows this

Why can our super fit players not play two games in a week?

stupid stupid question. They can, but I dont think you realise their are another 45+ games to come after this.

Why have we not got a settled first eleven?

Because until recently ramos did not know who would and would not be in his squad, now he does he needs the time to figure out his best 11, and as always this means match time to work out. Also the reason above.

We are and have been so much better off since levy came to spurs. I dont think we have that much right to criticize him, we would not even be talking about pushing the top 4, or buying the likes of Modric and Bentley for fee's of £15 million if it was not for him.
