boatengs performance was in the top 5 worst performances of all time in a spurs shirt those two passes at the end were so bad it was unreal even ramos had a smirk on his face. at least he smashed savage one bonus i guess

You must be the cleverest month old baby ever. How the fuck did you learn to type so quick.

Ok, hard to do ratings as I've only seen the game on FF (was the full match though). But some thoughts:

Boeteng. FFS he misplaced two passes. Keane gave the ball away everytime it got near him apart from the goal. What Boeteng did do was compete aggresively with a very physical side. Ohara gave the ball away as many times and gave away stupid free kicks in dangerous places too. Nobody played particularly well until we went 1-0 up. He's probably not the next messiah (again) but gave the bloke a break. There were worse performances in a spurs shirt in this game let alone ever.

Kaboul. Well played son.

Keane. I honestly can't remember a player more affraid of physical contact than him. You watch him play against Arsenal and then you watch games like today. Is he cheating us of 100% effort most games ?

Keane. Scored again.

Bent. Didn't want him. Still don't. Said in the match thread today that him and keane won't work today. He's not a hold up or creative player. Has no vision. He's just an average greyhound. He is Marlon Harewood with a better (well newer) tatoo.

Berbatov. Mental note to self. Must not grumble so much about Berbatov's off days. Because even his off days are a quantum evoloutionary step ahead of Bent.

Malbranque. Well played. Wish Keane had this little fellas bollocks (and he could if he went to see the same surgeon) and work rate.

Pitch. potato field.

Overdoing it, B-C, but I was thinking of asking 'Five worst performances since when?'

It's pretty clear that Bong was poor, but in the great scheme of things, or compared to some of the total cack that's masqueraded as a footballer in the fifty years I've been watching Spurs, I doubt that he was that bad.

People should give the kid a break. We wanted him, Sevilla wanted him, and Monchi, Ramos, Comolli and Jol can't all be wrong.

Subs worked a treat today.

I feel really glad for Kaboul. It'll take more performances like today's before I'm convinced but the look on his face when he scored ( as though to say "I know I was shit before but I love the club and will try my best not to make the same mistakes again" / chest-beating celebration ) almost made me cry .

I hope KPB manages to redeem himself in the same way soon because he was hopeless. O'Hara was a massive improvement on him. I think young O'Hara's earned Ramos' trust.

Credit to Berba for coming on and changing the game. I was looking forward to Bent making an impression but it wasn't to be.

Special mention to Huddlestone who looked immense and Chimbonda who was solid. Everyone else was OK for an hour and impressive in the last 30 mins, naturally.

Oh, and Hutton has been average so far. No doubting he will come good with more games though.
:clap:you've said a lot of what I was going to say, loved it on MOTD when they did a close up slow-mo of kaboul after the goal - it was a bit random actually.

:-|Cerny - 6 Did fine except his kicking was aweful as usual. Would be great if we could give him robbos leg!

:-|Hutton - 6 Looked very average, failed to build on his impressive debut. But has shown glimpses that he will be a good player for us.

:grin:Huddlestone - 8 I though he was great today, the cool thing about having Hudd at CB is that he can still use his fantastic long passes (see keano goal) and gets more time to pick them out. Looks very calm there too.

:bang:Dawson - N/A

:)Chimbonda - 7 Cos he was smiling loads, even though hes been replaced at RB and being played out of possition. Good assist for kaboul too. Did

:grin:Lennon 8 - Looked lively, caused plenty of problems and should have won a penalty early on.

:sad:Boateng 5 - Poor, but not as bad as people make out. I think this guy has something and will go on to prove himself, hes only young and has time on his side.

:grin:Jenas 8 - Kept up the good form. Good runs, passed well, proved once again his importance to the team.

:)Malbranque 7 - Another decent game from Mr Consistant. Always works hard and has the ability to make things happen - his shot lead to keano goal.

:-|Bent 6 - Good start to the game, but then dissapeared. Two good run and shots, but he just doesnt suit our style of play, we dont look for his runs enough. I hope once he plays more the team get used to how he plays and Ramos drills them to play to his strengths. Could do with a couple of tap-ins to build his confidence up.

:)Keane 7 - Scored again, another vital goal, he really is so important to us.

Subs:

:)O'hara 7 - Passed well, few iffy tackles that he got away with, but took a grip of the midfield.

:grin:Kaboul 8 - Fantastic goal, so composed to turn the defender then Kaboom! Defended well, looks better when playing next to anyone but Daws. Happy for him to get this chance and he didn't let us down.

:grin:Berbatov 8 - Changed the game. 3 goals scored with berbs on the pitch, added composure and sublime quality to the front line. The most relaxed penalty I've ever seen.

Overall I've given too many 8s probably cos we werent that great to be honest, first half was really poor. But 0.5 scores didnt fit with the smilies.

So you think its quite ok to stick up for a guy who played crap and has been here for 5 minutes and then stick the boot into a man who captains our club and scores over 100 goals for us.
Just seems strange to me!

Agreed with whoever said that Bent doesn't suit our style. He's a typical lower level team material. Only good for the kick and rush style as he has got very little control.

I'm not Bent fan, but i can't agree with these people now, Bent missed a lot of games recently as he was injuried, the player just needs time to prove his worth.

I think he will be better player if he stays fit.

Cerny (7). Quite simply he is an athletic and agile keeper, who does the simple things well, and makes some good and vital saves, probably the biggest contribution of the defensive changes ramos has made, as the mistakes Robbo made, time and time again, caused heads to drop.

Hutton (7). Look tall and strong, and likes to get forward, will improve with every game played. Played well

Chimbonda (7). Class act for me, calm on the ball, has the pace to rectify mistakes, played well out of position, very versatile defender.

Kaboul (8). Showed yesterday why we paid 8 million for him. Made some vital interceptions in the box yesterday, and took his goal like a striker, very impressed with him yesterday, plently of strength and pace.

Huddlestone (6). Didn't do anything wrong, but at times, specially in the 1st half, he did not look interested, and many mis placed passes, which is not his usual style.

Jenas (8). was everywhere as usual, good passes, tackles and tireless runs.

Boeteng (1) Not sure what's wrong with him, obviously talented, but showed nothing yesterday. Not only was his apssing woeful, he could have been sent off twice for challenging with his elbowin the air, needs a loan spell somewhere IMO.

Lennon (8). Sharp, quick and a handful all afternoon, in his best form since breaking into the 1st team.

Malbranque (8). Works tirelessly all game, with no little skill. If he had longer legs and half a yard more pace, would be a great winger, nt just a very good one.

O'hara (7). Some rash challenges, lucky not to be booked. A sweet left foot, good delivery of the dead ball, great potential.

Bent. (6) Just returned from injury, but worryingly, has not shown a glimpse of why we paid 16.5 million for him, in any of his appearances for Spursso far.

Keane (7). His passing was abysmal 1st half, seems to have gone into the comfort zone since we sold Defoe. Right place right time for his goal, but not his best performance IMO.

Berbatov. (7) Oozes class, lovely 1st touch, only critism i have, he looks lazy at times, easily disposessed from behind, he can be EVEN BETTER! but, he is class :)

KPB didn't play well today, no doubt. He misplaced a few passes, but some people are far too easily swayed by a few poor passes. It wasn't anywhere near the worst performance ever in a Spurs shirt, he doesn't deserve only 1/10 or anything like that.

KPB 4/10 poor, but not Nethercott.

I totaly agree, and what i cant understand is the people having a go at KPB for wastful passing but then say Hudd had a great game, didn't put a foot wrong.

Did they not see his passing yesterday? it was shit, hardly found a blue shirt. I know he trys the more dificult passes, but if they aren't coming off you have to play the simple ball.

Do you not think it strange the level of performance that we got from Keane against arsenal and that which we got yesterday. At least Boeteng applied himself in the same way yesterday as he does everygame. I find it quite annoying that a player who wears our captains armband is affraid of contact with the opposition. Something Boeteng is not. In 90 mins Keane made 20 passes. In 30 mins Berbatov made 16.

Keane continues to be a great scorer, and for that I am grateful, but watching him duck and dive away from every tackle or shirk holding the ball because he fears an opponent is up his arse - something which lead to Derby's best chance of the game - irritates me. What he gains us in goals is some what countered by the possession he surrenders which often leads to the opposition threatening our goal as we saw yesterday.

So you missed hudds immense long crossfield pass to steed which lead to the first goal. And another which could have got lennon in if he didnt give it away. His passing ability is second to none in our squad. Poyet had a special mention at how well he played. KPB on the other hand showed nothing, although I do believe people are overreacting, I think he will come good, but performances like that are unacceptable, hence the sub at half time. Ramos doesnt take any shit, ask Kaboul.

He can hit a ball across the pitch with ease, but alot of his passing was shit. He played realy well defenceivly but i thought his passing (overall) was poor.

I am not suggesting that Keane is'nt frustrating at times and in the past I have agreed with some of your observations. However you are starting to sound like a broken record and I just think the man deserves a bit more respect from all of us,he has certainly earned it.
Maybe Keane did'nt get enough service because he had to play most of the game with Boateng in midfield whereas Berbs had O'Hara to provide him with more of the ball.:)
