I think as long as he keeps getting in the right places, goals will follow. I don't mind so much about the misses (today, that is!)...Over the course of the season, is Defoe more likely to miss or score more of those? I'm being serious, which will he do more of?
Yes it was class, but imo he will miss more than score, so I would prefer him to make the run and slip in someone else to score, as over the course of a season that will lead to us scoring more and winning more games.

I don't know because I didn't see the game, but were we pressing at high tempo? There's a chance that the players aren't quite fit enough yet and thus switch off through tiredness at the end of games.Good win, but this habit of conceding pressure late on is extremely worrying. That's a late goal conceded in every game so far this season. Thank fuck we went into the final few minutes with more than a one goal lead this time.
FYPA great performance away from home... we definately have the right players for this system in Bale andLennonDempsey and it seems to work for Defoe who is immense at the moment. Have to say though that aside from the two new midfielders the stand out for me is Verts - what a footballer we have there and surely he is going to be the best centre back in the league this season?
