They've locked their Soldado thread, but this is one of the last comments.

We're not actually in for him. but you know what's going to happen? The same rags that have said that we're in for him - Evening Standard and Mirror - are going to say we've missed out on him to Spurs, even though we're not interested.
The Evening Standard will do this because Spurs are one of 'their' clubs (IE Laaahndaaarn) and it suits them to make them look ambitious.
The Mirror will do this because they're a tabloid gang of shithouses who write exclusively around 'crisis'. "Further blow for Brendan Rodgers as reds target Soldado opts for Spurs move" and so on.
Don't buy into it.
Always the victim. :ROFLMAO:

To be fair the quote about The Mirror is true and not only for The Mirror against Liverpool, all the shitty rags do it - They make stuff up so in a months time they can make more shit up about the shit they already made up.

Shit shitty shit shit ;)

Every club says this about the papers! It is true because there are so many stories about something and nothing that every club gets hit with it at some point.

The Evening Standard IS a London paper, so that's pretty obvious. With the others it depends on the writer, it amazes me that the papers allow their writers to let their bias cloud their writing - still, it causes controversy and sells I suppose.

'Liverpool set to beat Spurs to signing of Iago Aspas'
'Tottenham join race for Iago Aspas'
'Chelsea join race for Brazilian ace Paulinho'
'Spurs beat Chelsea to signature of Paulinho'

See, easy. These all happened though. Papers aren't there to tell the truth, they are there to sell. Stories always throw another team name in there, as if there was a battle and someone won - and someone lost. It adds a new audience as a new team is mentioned and their fans want to read it, even though it's bollocks.

Can't wait to have this announced
Me either. It's straining my life! Such an important signing for the future of Spurs. A world class striker in his peak. Will change our future for sure for the better especially WHEN Bale is still with us next season. Never been as exited for a transfer I'm praying it goes through.

As this guy is scouse, he's probably never read the Evening Standard in his life. So he won't realise they have different writers who tend to do most of the writing on different clubs. Tom Collomosse does most of the Spurs related stuff, and as such is the nicest (and I use that term lightly) about Spurs, whereas James Olley chokes on Arsenal cock every day of the week. It wasn't Collomosse who wrote the 'Liverpool in for Soldado' nonsense last week.

Interesting you say that. Olley gets a lot of shit from Gooners for being pro-Spurs

Ok... this: http://www.standard.co.uk/ ?

Barely. Minority share, just less than 25%. The rest is owned by Alexander Lebedev who also owns the Independent.

From same stable, shared HQ, pool, probably same ink.

Yeah I know about the Russian ownership.

I'm old enough to remember the News and the Standard, the bundles being thrown onto pavements for the vendors.

App on twitter it is saying Soldado trained with Valencia today, if true can't be as close as was being touted.

I bet we did not pay €30m.

But Valencia can hold the head up high which was the whole point in the last few days. "Much more expensive it will Soldier's signing for Tottenham, will not be no bargain indeed"

Google translations are funny

Probably because he's been the one to write pieces on the various 'problems' at Arsenal over the last few seasons and they've assumed criticising any aspect of Arsenal equates to being pro-Spurs. Whenever he writes anything bordering on complimentary about Spurs he may as well write the sound his gritted teeth make.
