I think you squad build best when you buy players for the first XI, buying squad players doesn't work. You can buy a youngster but you should recruit quality on top of quality.

I don't find this Summer's signings very exciting, Bentancur and Kulusevski were legit disruptive purchases for the first XI

What a strange post.

I mean for a start Perisic, Bissouma and likely Lenglet have been bought for the first XI.

Aside from another CB which we are looking at signing, where else could we realistically have improved the first XI with signings anyway?

Squad depth has been our main issue and we’re addressing that really well.

Also there is such a thing as a budget. You can’t just sign 5-6 first XI players as we don’t have the money for that.

We’ve by all accounts so far made some very very astute signings and probably 2 more to come, don’t really get your criticism at all.

Also it’s pre season, you need a squad for a whole season in many different competitions.

Maybe give them more of a chance to show what they can do, rather than a friendly in the middle-East.
Let remember that many were writing Deki off after 20 minutes against Brighton.

I'd also add that in my opinion, Bissouma, Perisic and Richarlson are all top class, Lenglet looks decent and Spence is a prospect.
What more do you expect?
