Mate, it's pre-season ffs.

Not to mention that what we have done is improve the squad massively.

Last season, Conte would've turned to the bench during a game like this and seen the grand total of fuck all to help him change things up.
Now he looks to the bench and has a plethora of options that are just as good as those playing, if not better, different at least.
It's a step in the right direction, but I don't think it's fair to berate a chap for not being excited about the window. His opinion is as valid as any other. And I'm sympathetic to his point of view. There is a degree of urgency this summer to get it right. We have Conte and money to spend to make a real difference. It's not like we can wait 2 or 3 seasons.

As for options, other than, say, Richy and a midfielder, what options are there? There are some like-for-like replacements, but beyond our first XI, there are only two or three options. With all the out-goings, we still need better players to improve the first team. In terms of attacking, other than Richy, there's Moura... and that's it. In midfield, we have 4 DMs, and no one who can play as a playmaker, making us utterly reliant on Kane once more. Our WB options are all much of a muchness, unless Spence immediately develops into a world-class talent (could happen, but it won't be this or next season).

Compared to the atmosphere in Korea and Glasgow this must be like playing on the moon.

What a strange post.

I mean for a start Perisic, Bissouma and likely Lenglet have been bought for the first XI.

Aside from another CB which we are looking at signing, where else could we realistically have improved the first XI with signings anyway?

Squad depth has been our main issue and we’re addressing that really well.

Also there is such a thing as a budget. You can’t just sign 5-6 first XI players as we don’t have the money for that.

We’ve by all accounts so far made some very very astute signings and probably 2 more to come, don’t really get your criticism at all.

Also it’s pre season, you need a squad for a whole season in many different competitions.

We've made early signings but all meh to me, they just aren't very exciting. Nunez, Haaland, Gvaridol, Bastoni, Jesus, Sterling, Koulibaly, Raphina are exciting signings.

Emerson coming on instead of Spence boggles my mind. We know how painstakingly average the former is as a wing back, can we not at least give the latter a chance.

Bit scrappy but we have been the better side. I know people will look at other teams results and the fact that we are behind in this game, but this is a really good work out, exactly what’s needed before the season kicks off.

good to play a team that plays this way too — all too often we struggle against the low block so I’d like to see how we deal with it.

would hope to do a little better but we have time
