Yeah, I can't remember why I always refered to him as the Ginger Prince but I would agree that there is not much resemblence to the Purple one.

"Mason and Bentaleb are both still relatively inexperienced in the Premier League, although they broke through relatively late in their careers, and at this stage they will make mistakes."

Bentaleb was a teenager until a few months ago. What's he on about?

He's talking about Mason and probably assuming mistakenly that Bentaleb is the same. Kind off a small thing to get wound up by though as his point is they are still relatively inexperienced at this level and its to be expected they will make some mistakes

Scholes is a man who doesn't say much very often but when he does he's worth listening too. He might be a pundit now but he certainly doesn't hand out praise if it's not earned and the little mention of Ferguson at the end is not something he'd say lightly.

Imagine being Ryan Mason, with the lone voice in the media calling for you to be in the England squad being Paul Scholes. Probably doesn't get better than that for an English midfielder.

I can't pass on how I know this information but Scholes mentions a very valid point I know played a big part in Levy employing Poch. When they looked at candidates to replace Sherwood one of the standout qualities Poch possessed was the role he played in the youth sides, Levy was very impressed by the number of Under 21's/Under 18's games that he attended for Southampton.

No bigger praise than this. Up until Liverpool (where I think he genuinely had a poor game) I really did not understand some of the criticism he got. He's one of the most vital players in his set up and I don't know anyone else in the squad that can give us the same intent from the heart of midfield. Really really like seeing Mason in our line-up

In the periods of my career when I stopped passing the ball forward, or when I stopped looking for the risky pass that might open up a defence, the consequences were the same. The manager stopped picking me. I got back into the team when I went back to doing it the way he wanted.

United’s history was built on attacking football, which does not always mean that the team kept clean sheets or did not concede chances. Why do you think United have had some of the best goalkeepers in the world over the years? They needed them because the team committed so many players forward.

Nuff said.

great read

what I like about Kane is he's the type of forward that would go round the keeper (no one near him) he wouldn't get on his knees and head it in he would still smash it even if it was on the line if that makes sense!!

Paul Scholes as a player was one of the best midfielders this country has ever produced and his eye for the key pass through on goal exceptional
Consequently his comments regarding our players and Mauricio in particular make pleasing reading to us Spurs fans as it's what most of us have been able to decipher as this team gels under our second favorite Argentinian.

It's worrying that he says Mason is a good tackler as Scholes' view of a good tackle did not always tally with everyone else's.

Paul Scholes is a footballing hero. He should be everyone who even thinks about playing the games' idol and role model.
