Some of the first teamers have not had much rest during the last few weeks, and if we include the new injuries, I’d hope that Jose starts with a few youngsters (Skipp, Tanganga, Parrott) for the weekend’s game.

Give starts to Lamela & GLC too, to help them pick up some match fitness.

Poch wanted many of them out and talked about refreshing constantly. It never happened. Feel free to blame Poch if you want but he's not the one signing the checks.

Don't go upsetting TBSODL on the first day of the new year now!!

Gutless in the challenge and second ball.
Eriksen and Dele are the main offenders, but there just isn’t enough bottle or battle.

We have literally been out fought again.
Just swarm our players and they lose the ball.

One thing of note - Saints made 21 fouls between them. I'd say that's quite high - and probably what Jose was complaining about. They also pressed relentlessly for 90 minutes. Fair play to them.

We on the other hand, couldn't string two passes together. Something was wrong with the set up.

In spells, I thought Sissoko played not too bad - tried to drive us forward on many occasions. Lo Celso, not bad also, but all efforts were undone by their relentless pressing.

This is no reflection on Mourinho but I think it's fair to say that what Poch got out of this squad last year was pretty incredible. Top Four and a decent Cup run looks almost a pipe dream at the moment. We've got lucky against some poor teams and been outclassed by everything good team since he left.

Wonder if there's any fingers being pointed internally. It's all a bit grim atm

Wow that's some revisionism.
If they adored him then why were they all playing so shit?
He'd lost the dressing room, it's been widely reported, and it was obvious from the performances.
If he lost the dressing room which I agree with you as I thought that also, how was it the players went to his house to see him after he got sacked. Because something manager is wrong you can’t blame Jose he’s only just arrived. So who else is there ???

ENIC need to just sell up, we've won fuckall and when we fo have moderate success we can never sustain it.
Enic are in the business of making money so it’s either wash rinse repeat or someone will have to offer an obscene amount of money to take it of their hands.

Squad is pure shit for the last two seasons! The true difference makers are hurt (Ndombele) or suspended (Son). Jan/Toby are below par at this stage unless a Kante type DM is in front of them. I'm still not sure if that would help as the FBs are pure diarrhea...my dog can cross better than high flying Aurier.

Call me crazy, but maybe it is time to consider selling Harry + Dele to raise funds to rebuild. Love HK, but he is severely limited if no one is there to provide service. If the dinero is not there to invest, or you om with 5 more years of Kane, but a mediocre squad? Or would you want to be in the hunt with the 200+ mil reinvested from selling?

As for Dele, his useless flicks far outweigh his brilliant moments. Dude is a one trick pony.

I understand the negativity today. That was the least enjoyable match of the season and there's a lot of competition for that title. Shit start to the year too and Harry out makes me wanna cry.

Not gonna say top 4 is gone yet but it seems only a matter of time with performances like that. And remember how we got it last year....

Oh I'm not blaming Jose, he probably genuinely thought this squad was good enough to challenge. I imagine he doesnt anymore.
Yeah good shout can’t imagine what he thinks now, I just hope and pray the little bald one backs him!!! Because if you were Jose would hang around for this this shit, o maybe 15 million reasons a year he will do get the picture!!! Fucking awful from the chairman

Mate you can like someone as a person even though they're failing at their job...I think that's all it was.

Maybe, just maybe, you need to hold off on AFTV style rants, and give it a bit of time?
You remind me of Claude.

Never post. Last post was about huddlestone! Got to say through the sherwood times and AVB there was usually some positives to take from a loss. Maybe the emergence of a youngster i.e. Mason or Bentaleb or the form of an established player ala Bale but today's performance has got to go down as one of the most abject, listless, passionless and incompetent displays I have ever had the mispleasure of witnessing.

Defence were rubbish. Keep vertonghen at the club but he should not be first team. Aurier awful. Eriksens passing was woeful, generally inaccurate and devoid of any craft or urgency. God knows how he thinks he will get a transfer to a big club. Why do 90‰ of our passes have no purpose? Just pointless, 3 yard sideways dross. Why do we have so many touches? Moura. Seems like a nice guy but he plays like a kid in a playground, running around aimlessly, dribbling with his head down. Not sure what his position is. Alderweireld was poor and his distribution was unusually wayward. Don't understand how supposedly professional players can screw up 3 yard passes.

I would seriously consider selling 5-6 players in todays first team. Don't care how much for to be honest. Just get Eriksen, Aurier et al out of the club. Mourinho has a big job on his hands. I only hope enic and levy give him the funds to make the sweeping changes this team and squad desperately need.

I didn't want Mourinho and said he was yesterdays man with outdated ideas and so far I think it's shown that's the case. However Even if we had Pep as coach and Klopp as his assistant even they couldn't make this lot into a good side. There are to many average players with limited ability and a real lack of purpose and desire. We have missed out in recent seasons by not bringing in the odd player every year to strengthen the squad as other clubs have. Just look how Leicester have improved with the right player that slots into the side Madison being a perfect example bought for 20 mil and now worth treble that. Liverpool needed to improve their defence to challenge for the title bought Van Dijk added Salah to their strike force and now they are out of sight as far as we are concerned.
Not buying at the right time and poor buys when we do have seen us fail miserably when we should have had the title at least once by now.
It is going to take almost a complete overhaul which will take a few seasons to do but I don't have the confidence in our club doing it anyway.
I wonder if Levy and the directors actually believe they have missed out by poor decisions? I doubt it.

Been so much worse yes but not at a time when we were challenging at the top of the league and similar to Liverpool a few seasons ago ready to take the final step. They did and we didn’t and that’s what makes this so much worse
Is this the same Liverpool who two years ago we were finishing above but now they are European, world and soon to be EPL champions all in the space of a year, so glad the new decade is bringing us much to look forward to #noinvestmentequalsdecline.
