Funny story about Tom Hardy, completely unrelated to the doc but....

A mate of mine, also Tom, is a stage actor and has had a few TV/ad cameos

Was once having a drink after a show and was introduced to a friend of a friend also called Tom.

Mate Tom asked new Tom what he did for a living and it turned out they both were actors. Mate Tom asked new Tom if he had any work recently and new Tom replied 'I've just finished filming Mad Max' to which mate Tom patronisingly congratulated him on getting a role in such a big film.

New Tom left shortly after, for mate Tom to be informed 'you do realise you just completely mugged off Tom Hardy right?'

Wait which one was Tom?

Was that the old Tom or the new Tom that was a mate of Tom that mugged Tom off?

Those anyone have the clip of this scene??
I’ve been looking for it everywhere?

Mourinho: The guy never smiles, the guy is ruthless. I think this is the perception.

Interviewer: What's the truth?

Mourinho: The truth is that there is some truth in it.

Poch had clearly given up. Odd when he mentions the house falling down and then claims he's not talking about spurs when he clearly is

I don't understand why some of you claim that the Eriksen part is staged to make Levy look good. We had no reports that we offered him small money, there were no reports that we don't want to extend his contract, there were no reports that we want to sell. But he said in public he want's new challenges, there were reports about his agent being difficult, there were reports that he has no intent to extend contract. Also our club recent history shows that we try to keep our best players rather than sale them. Also we were managing contracts pretty well beside that famous trio. But it is now pretty clear that Toby had an issue with Poch cause he signed just after he left, we didn't want to extend Vert contract as he is past his best and Eriksen wanted to leave. I don't get why Levy saying to Mourinho "hey maybe you can talk to Eriksen one last time to convince him to what we try to do here?" is seen as something unbelievable.

EDIT
Although I agree that those conversations between Levy and Mourinho look plastic. But I think it's just because they are two completly different person although who respect each other and are working together. Those were just classic smalltalks - which are very often plastic.

Because it just doesn't fit their narrative.

On the Jan situation it seems pretty clear that he wanted a longer deal than we were prepared to offer, it says quite clearly that there were discussions between him and the club on his contract.
It's not nice to see it but he was clearly on the decline, and the club would have to be daft to offer a 2/3 year deal for a player at that stage of his career.
He was great for us, and good luck to him, but it doesn't sound like he was forced out.

Very quickly those 3 contract situations have been made a lot clearer in these first episodes

Jan- as above, wanted longer and wanted to stay, club didn't want to offer long term deal
Toby- clearly an issue with Poch, happy to sign for Mourinho
Eriksen- wanted out, wasn't necessarily about finances, club were powerless

I just got the feeling in them that mourinho cant really be fucked to talk to him. He knows Levy had a good relationship with posh so is probably just feeling his way around the relationship. Either that or he really cant be bothered.

True, true. Mourinho is pragmatic, he doesn't care about doing small talks with his boss. Levy on the other hand looks like he likes to keep an eye on everything is happening in the club. They are different characters but looking at transfer window so far they cooperate pretty good.

Generally speaking, Mourinho has been screwed by most of his 'presidents' (as he puts it) before, so is likely to be weary. I think people underestimate how unusual it is to have a chairman that actively seeks out a relationship with the manager. For most clubs, they would claim to have barely met them.

That scene with the pundits wasn't scripted but the conversation heard through his "TV" was. He probably heard something else that said something similar but didn't have enough context for the producers' liking. They dubbed in a conversation that provided more context and was pithier.

Unless folks can provide a recording of that conversation.

Not sure where to put this (its NOT related to the documentary) but this 20 min interview between Dier and Steve Kerr has some brilliant insights into Mourinho and into Eric himself.
