Agree what a difference having someone comfortable with the ball in midfield makes.
This is exactly what I'm saying, Alli seems more comfortable off the ball
Have you watched preseason?

Dele is being played in a new role and is doing really very well with it. My MotM today.

Judge him by what he does now, not what he did last season or the season before.
I have been impressed by his work rate and some of the things he has done but I don't think he suits the team playing CM at all

Decent runout.

Looked solid as a defensive unit. Sanchez in particular looked fantastic and assured.
Midfield works much better with gio in there. Alli had moments but unless he gets a goal (clda had 2) he never really seems like he affects the game enough but he certainly wasnt terrible at all.
Stevies not going to cut it is he? Id love to be wrong but he is not where we need him to be. Gil will have a very big impact im certain so he will nail a spot very early into the season i feel.

Suprisingly plenty to be optimistic about. If Gio can stay fit, dombele gets fit, romero hits the ground running and we can sign a top forward i think we can be fairly competitive and decent.

Enjoyed that. It's the first time i've seen the midfield three working coherently for a whole match in pre season. Gio had an impact when he came on. I hope he's fit enough to start against Man City. Tanganga is levels above Doherty at RB but we still need an upgrade in that area. Sanchez is ahead of Dier as an option to partner Romero imo, if we don't sign another CB.

Alli’s been given another chance… would like to see the same with Sanchez as he’s certainly better than Dier. We still need to bring another CB in but I would much prefer to have Romero, Sanchez, new CB, Rodon as our main CB’s than Dier being seen as 2nd or 3rd choice.

Will be interesting to see what Nuno does against City as I don’t think we can play a trio of Hojbjerg, Skipp and Alli… they all played well individually but for me they don’t offer enough as a trio. As Alli has played pretty every min of preseason I would expect Lo Celso to come in for Skipp although I would prefer him to start ahead of Alli.

Moura and Son are definite starters and fingers crossed we bring in a striker in time for the game. Bergwijn works hard but offers very little goal threat.

Tanganga the stand out And must have staked a claim for a start against City
Sanchez excellent while he was on, Sevilla should be pleased.
Dier hardly put a foot wrong.
Skipp full of energy and willing to get on ball, he’s finding his feet nicely
Gio showed what a quality footballer he is, midfield transformed with him on.
Son and Moura good efforts
Dele got in some great scoring positions but looks lost in the midfield.
SB effort but not much from it.

All in all a good run out and improved performance.

Good team spirit , I got a true sense of togetherness. Some good football with pace. Still lots to do to get it right but very promising. The middle needs sorting and that may just come with team confidence.

Impressive from Lo Celso, Tanganga and Son for the goal. Fighting for it, making space and getting into good positions. Well done.

Only caught the second half.

Sanchez impressed me, seemed absolutely in control of Auba.

Tanganga was great for the goal, and generally think he looks comfortable in that position.

Reguilón looks back to his dangerous best.

Skipp some great some questionable… needs to pick his moments a little better.

Dele on the other side looked good, played with needle and really taking responsibility. I think he’ll enjoy the more controlled role, really progressed or play today.

Lucas looks so sharp, I hope he takes this into the season.

Son leading the line went actually scare me if we can create for him, his movement seems spot on.

Generally felt bossed the half, deserved the win, and looked very in sync.

The Arse channel is a world away from the Chelsea channel, they've been pretty fair and unbiased - Chelsea channel just full of bitter twats

Only watched the first half but I must admit I had the same thoughts. I was actually quite impressed with the commentary.

I know I am sometimes apt to allow my Spurs optimism to run away with me (understatement of the year :X3:). It's just that when I consider the possibility that these incoming youngsters could fully integrate into the squad after a few games and not require a long time to be 'bedded in' then the opportunities for this club 21/22 season seem very attractive.

Early days and there's much more to do to get us firmly back on our feet but I think we can all safely say the initial signs are promising. Maybe the performance today has converted a few more doubters. Hope so (y)

Skipp did all the heavy lifting in the midfield today, I’d be surprised if he didn’t start vs City with PEH and Gio.

It's only pre season but to play Chelsea and Arsenal in two successive games and stay unbeaten is always nice.

Ps As long as I've been watching football and that's for a long long time, as far as I'm concerned, there's no such thing as a friendly between Spurs and Arsenal. COYS !!
