That was not a fun watch. Going to have to improve loads because that was a really poor performance.

But great character to win it at the death.

Have I come into the wrong thread? Thought we were fantastic throughout. The effort, not just in terms of physical workrate but trying the risky passes and runs and when it doesn't work out try again, even if we concede a goal doing it. You get your rewards in the end. We're going to have to accept mistakes from every player as simply a part of the way we play. You cannot play a high risk game unless you keep taking those risks instead of hiding or playing low risk passes.

The midfield wasn't really clicking 1st half but they kept doing what Ange wants them to do and it paid off.

I love this team.

Not sure we deserved the 3 points but I’ll take it. We started the 2nd half well and got a goal. We then made the substitutions most people were calling for and Brighton took over and were very unlucky not to go ahead. In added on time they looked the more likely to get the late winner. At the end of games our defensive structure seems to fall apart somewhat and it’s not helped by some very, very sloppy passing especially in our final third. Totally against the run of play we get a breakaway and score the winner! Nothing sweeter than a last minute winner😅.
Overall you have to say Brighton were the better, more composed team. They passed the ball far better than we did, overall defended better than we did and in midfield Gilmore and Gross were far superior to Madison and Bentancur/Bissouma.
Still we’ve had games were we’ve been the better team and lost(WHU and AV spring to mind) so I’ll happily take these 3 points and move on to the next game.

I can only hope that with the poor performances – even since we've got our first 11 back – the players will eventually play themselves into match fitness/sharpness.

Well that might shut the “they’re conceding late goals” brigade up for a while.
"Seamless pivot to 'they only score late goals now so it doesn't magically count or something, shut up, I miss 2004!' arguments*

Our play it out from the back no matter the situation or performance of the players 'philosophy' really needs a rethink.

Why? We’re fourth in the table and still learning. This season was all about transitioning to a whole new way of playing. Why would we want to waver when if anything we’re actually ahead of schedule?

Lol @HildoSpur going back to down vote this after Johnson scored. Seriously why? I didn’t say anything about Johnson. I still think subbing Kulu at that point of the match was a poor decision regardless who came on for him.
I was catching up on the thread. Do you honestly care about ratings?

Think with all the disruptions within the squad we lost our rhythm and now it's going to take a bit of time for it to come back.

Sometimes you have to.

Cant complain.

However, I hope Ange never makes subs like that again, we had finally for control of it and those subs took it away.
Not sure we can blame the subs on our drop off. I mean, it could be that, but we do this a lot. We score, then back off and invite pressure on ourselves.
