I wouldn't play Lamela; Bottle up his new found confidence and release it on the opening day of the season.

What I'd love to see:

----------------------- Friedel ----------------------
Walker ---- Kaboul ----------- Veljkovic ---- Davies
---------------- Holtby ------ Capoue --------------
- Townsend --------- Lamela ------------- Eriksen -
---------------------- Soldado ----------------------

2nd Half:

---------------------- Friedel ----------------------
Naughton ---- Dawson ------ Fryers -------- Rose
------------ Carroll ---------- Veljkovic -----------
- Lennon ----------- Falque ------------ Ceballos -
----------------------- Kane -----------------------
I think Poch has been testing combo's. I think we will see:

----------------------- Friedel ----------------------
Walker ---- Kaboul ----------- Fryers ---- Rose
---------------- Holtby ------ Capoue --------------
- Townsend --------- Lamela ------------- Cebellos -
---------------------- Kane ----------------------

&

----------------------- Friedel ----------------------
Naughton (or Fredericks) ---- Dawson ----------- Veljkovic ---- Davies
---------------- Mason ------ Carroll --------------
- Falque --------- Eriksen ------------- Lennon -
-------------------- Soldado ----------------------

Presumably by now we should be looking for players to put in a full 90 minutes to top up fitness.

In my opinion, 90 mins is still too much at this stage of pre-season. I'd be happy for a handful to get 60 mins but no more, wouldn't want to see a silly injury due to fatigue. We've also still got another 2 matches (Celtic & Schalke) to be really pushing on the fitness levels and getting to know our likely best XI.

Got to say that's a terrible idea mate.

His team mates need to get used to playing with him so they all build an understanding of each other. He also needs to get a lot sharper and you only get that from playing games

Looks like Lamela (and Pochettino?) have already gotten Soldado on the mate (Argentinian tea), apparently Pochettino and his staff brought in tons of it at Southampton.

Who is on the bed with Lamela and Holtby?

Think it's my mate Dave Everett, but don't know why he's with the Spurs boys in the States as he plays badminton on Fridays in Chipping Ongar.

How I wish we score 8 on Saturday and out-gaal LVG.

Maybe it's just me but I'd hate that. Preseason games would be wasted battering teams we know we're much better than. I'd far rather we got the players to push themselves out of their comfort zones in these games. Like how we've had Carroll playing a lone holding role, Eriksen on the right, Lennon further up the pitch, etc. The players and manager learn more that way, more than practising beating poor teams comfortably.
