I think there is some truth to this narrative but then Southampton pressed us high and attacked us and left lots of space to work with, and wiped the floor with us.
Oh, yeah, don’t get me wrong, for our ‘tactics’ to work we not only need our opponents to be complicit, we also need our best players to produce moments of high quality. They can’t do that every game.

No idea what team of ours will turn up.

I can see a world where we win 3-0 and also one where we lose.

We're just too inconsistent atm.

For our tactics to work on a regular basis, we need two quality wing backs. We don't even have one.
We also need two decent CMs.
At least we might have that on Monday in Hojbjerg and Bentancur. I stress the word might here.

This 100%.

Arguably the most important players in Conte’s system are the wingbacks and we don’t have a single player on the left or right that has come remotely close to cementing their spot. A key to us maintaining consistency is going to be having quality on the wings.

RWB clearly has to be our number 1 priority in the summer, and if either Reg and Sess don’t step up by the end of the season, LWB does too.

Hope you are about as accurate as you were for city then ?

Every time Spurs win I'm genuinely surprised. I honestly think we are trash. We've got a decent goalie, one good centre half and two great strikers the rest of the team is, at best, deeply average bordering on shite.

we don't have many quality players, let alone wing backs...

Really? So assume you mean romero? But dier and Davies not shite. And since conte dier way above average. Skipp and bentancur. Regs. Etc. But more importantly, what's the point then? If you think we're shite just do yourself a favour and step away for a bit. Would also make these threads a bit less toxic, which, would be nice..
Each to their own I guess.
Meanwhile I reckon we've got this, 2-1 or 3-1

Fair comment, we maybe have three or four. Naturally people would have different views on who those are.
Perhaps I was setting the bar too high for the WBs. Perhaps if we had one quality and one decent WB, that would be enough. Let's say decent as in top 8 level, quality as in top 5 level.
Are any of our WBs top 5, for me, no.
Top 8, probably no, maybe Reggie at his best, but when was that last on a regular basis.

Literally no idea whatsoever what'll happen tomorrow. We could win 4-0 handsomely or lose 2-0 miserably. We tend to be quite shit at home though so I'm leaning towards the latter. The only thing I'm sure about is I'll know within the first 5 minutes how it's going to go.

Do you think, then, that until we have two quality wingbacks, we might usefully adopt different tactics?
I honestly don't know. For me our best bet is 3 5 2, but that probably needs Skipp or something inspirational from the tactics locker.
I wouldn't mind seeing Davies and Paskotsi as primararily defensive WBs. Rotating Sanchez and Rodon as third CB. Then having an attacker like Kulusveski, Lucas or Bergwin as third mid.
Or maybe have an attacker as a WB, and a third defensive mid
I honestly don't know as I say.
Sometimes I think if we have everyone fit, there are 11 decent or better players in our squad... sometimes ??
Basically, our recruitment has been poor to scandalous over the past five years
Have we actually found one unqualified success in that time?
Our best players currently seem to be Academy or bought prior to 2017.
Maybe some of FPs purchases will change my mind by the end of the season

I personally think Dier and Davies are very average. You may disagree, but that's your prerogative. They're too inconsistent and make too many mistakes for me.

Skipp and bentancur. Regs. Etc.

Skipp is OK, but he's (so far) nothing special. Bentacur has been here for about 30seconds and is injured already so it's impossible to say. Regs is average, nothing special going forward and terrible defensively. Again, this is just my opinion.

But more importantly, what's the point then? If you think we're shite just do yourself a favour and step away for a bit. Would also make these threads a bit less toxic, which, would be nice..

Why should I step away? I didn't realise we all had to agree to have discussion. Look at our form this season. If this wild inconsistency doesn't say deeply average, then I don't know what does. I want Spurs to do well as do we all, but face facts, currently, we're a bit shit.

That’s fine, jam tomorrow if we’re lucky, but I’m thinking about tomorrow. If 3:4:3 requires top quality wingbacks and we don’t have any, shouldn’t one of the best managers in the world, one that we should be utterly grateful that we’ve got, try a different tactic?

Hope to see a match with good sportsmanship. That's about as much as I'm willing to hope for in this group.

I take your point entirely, so what do you suggest, because I honestly don't know what to suggest for the best ATM
