Been out all day, can anyone summarise how we played?

Result is very promising again.
From what I’ve read it seems like we actually did quite a bit of high pressing on Reading in the first half, is that the case and if so interesting if that is another tactic we will use against certain teams, Jose has so many different plans for different opponents I love it.

What formation did we play?
Who played well and who didn’t play so well?

We definitely pressed higher early on. Not constant, but there was a pretty concerted effort when we lost the ball to regain quickly. Then if we didn’t we backed off a bit. A lot of our chances cane from that.

We were much less lopsided today. Gedson was not way up the pitch. Was more a traditional balanced 4231 with Son up top, although that front 4 interchanged quite a bit.

Dele, son and Berg were pretty awesome. I never get a very comforting feeling with Dier. Gedson was less comfortable withdrawn. We certainly gave up some chances. White showed promise for his age, but they got around him pretty easily.

Lamela looked fat although beautiful free kick. Still no right foot. He and Aurier dyed their hair blond boy band style.

Joe Hart yells a lot. Constantly. With F bombs.

Brilliant summary really appreciate it thanks mate! Sounds very promising all in all that Jose is trying to mould us into the 4-2-3-1 style he had at Chelsea the 2nd time round when Oscar Hazard Willian and Costa causes teams havoc and I think Kane dele Son Moura with a mix of Bergy Lo Celso Sess, Lamela and new 2nd striker mixing in from time to time will be pretty potent.

Jose will love JH giving F bombs at the defence lol.

Wouldn't CCV have been sent off for the handball? Not sure if the rule has changed but I think in a competitive game that's a straight red.
Haha I don't know why that's got me as saying that, mate. I never posted that.

No I’m talking about in general. If we don’t buy another RB after Doherty we will really regret it. Gedson isn’t athletic enough, isn’t a good defender, from what I’ve seen not a good crosser

Every team in the leag has 2 natural RB an LB
Who is the back up RB(and LB) at Liverpool?

Lucas always impresses me. Often nicks the ball and plays the pass for the assist. Work rate is excellent.
If Lucas plays the quick pass like he did in the last 2 games, we have a really fantastic asset in our hands.

The problem with him during the last season was he tended to keep the ball too long and ran into dead ends. Lets hope he does less of thay and more of thei intelligent show he displayed last 2 games.
