Clarke plays, like a lot of young players do, like someone who hasn’t had a taste of a goal or assist in awhile. I actually think he has the pace and ability to beat his man more often than not (like he did at Leeds) but he’s very shy which for a winger is odd. You need your wingers to have an arrogance about them where they believe they’ll beat the FB every time and score a worldie cutting in.. Clarke doesn’t have that at all, but everything else is there.
The kid was playing in front of aurier who didnt give him a single pass to run on to.
Every time Aurier got the ball he passed it back.
Unfair to judge the kid on this game a winger even if his name is Ginola or Jones or even Bale would have been anonymous if they had played in this game instead of Clarke.Wingers rely on getting passes from their backs or midfielders Clarke got no help at all.
I dont know if hes any good but with this kind of support we will never know.

I was encouraged by the high press today, was like watching a Tottenham team again after sitting so deep lately. Alli was outstanding in his work rate and positioning, fittest I've seen him look in years and that a great sign. What was evident is that PEH was good positionally today but a little sloppy on the ball and although White did ok and showed lots of potential, you can tell he's nowhere near ready for this level yet.

What was extremely evident when Sissoko came on and played cm, is that in a 2 with Alli playing off Kane, there is no place at all for him ever playing in cm. We lost our ability to transition or keep the ball as whenever a spurs defender had the ball, sissoko hid behind the reading players, never making himself available or being intelligent enough to move into space to demand the ball. What that mean is that whereas first half the ball was coming into the feet of white or Hoijberg, or they were offering which dragged players creating space for Alli.... in the second half Sissoko's inability to show for the ball meant the only option was backwards. His lack of technique or want for the ball cant be carried anymore.

Im excited to see Hoijberg play alongside a Lo Celso or Ndombele type who will show for it and travel forwards with the ball. making pockets of space for the front 4.

My other take from the first half is the ability on the ball of our centre backs who look extremely comfortable in possession. I do worry that if Sanchez doesn't play were short on pace back there, however another aspect of our game which will make us hard to play against is the passing of Dier and Alderweireld is so good, that it creates another weapon for our quick transition. Dier player a brilliant ball to Son leading to the first goal and Toby countlessly found Mouras chest or Dele running the channels.

Its a friendly and the opposition was poor but its very good to see what we are working on in training and how the team may develop if we upgrade our weaknesses.

I thought the starting eleven played well overall.
Sessegnon seemed to suit playing LB more than an attacking role.
Gedson isn't quite there defensively yet.
White can do what Winks can do.
We were still a bit weak centrally allowing Reading to play through us on a few occasion.
Steve's a baller.

If you add Kane, Doherty, and Sabitzer to our starting line up we could compete with any team in the league in a one-off game.

Lucas always impresses me. Often nicks the ball and plays the pass for the assist. Work rate is excellent.

How does he qualify for Ireland then?

A lot of neat & tidy stuff, but I still hope for a lot more from the likes of Moura & Dele they should be dominating teams like this on a consistent basis.

Really didn't expect him to develop in to this kind of player, but if he continues to play this role as well as he has done recently he'll be difficult to drop.

You can tell the players are buying into Mourinho's methods. Nobody has gone backwards, most have improved. Lots of effort, positive end to the season and start of preseason.
Important when your key players are behind the project

It’s one of the reasons I’m looking forward to the amazon doc now. It will be good to see if there is a change in the players from when he comes until the end of the season.

Don't feel good letting CCV go for 3m
Whether he's good enough for us, i'm not sure. But he's a Prem player imo. Maybe one of the newly promoted teams would take him on loan. If he does well, he's suddenly worth £20m.
