I hate the growing sense of belief I have after a single game, I prefer the constant, unrelenting misery of before where I didn't have any hope to lose.

One thing I've seen so often is ndombele's imability to transition quickly. It was evident again tonight.

He has the skillset, strength and spacial awareness to turn players in an instant and beat a press then drive forward for the quick counter but... he always seems to dally and dink, giving opposition time to overwhelm him, thus passing sideways or backwards.

Probably JM's fault for making him play so negatively

Poor first half but that's to be expected with settling nerves. Second half was great. They didn't have a sniff. Onwards and upwards.

Fair play to Chris Coleman.

I know the commentator was half-joking when he made the 'big-six' joke but Coleman easily swiped it away with a 'let's not go there'

Take notes, Gary Neville

Thank F**k Neville wasn’t anywhere this game. He’s a bitter shit stain who believes his own hype of man of the people.

I don’t really get the Coleman hate. He’s not a world class co commentator but he’s perfectly fine. Better than most of the Sky ones.

I think it's only the 2nd match I've watched with him on, but I find him very refreshing. He doesn't want to hog the mic and overplay his role like some co-commentators, and when he does speak he's measured and generally insightful.

Just to make it clear, we were lucky tonight. Could’ve easily draw or lost that one.
Yeah, but that's how football works, difference tonight is we actually tried to win and got what our second half performance deserved.

Well done Ryan and team second half was much better and we deserved it, first half was the old spurs real pity that we drew with Newcastle and Everton otherwise might be in the mix.

I agree. Maybe the first time I've heard him (don't normally watch on Sky), but I enjoyed listening to him; perhaps not always accurate, and full of gaffes, not to mention verrrrry Bale bias, but an entertaining commentary.

This is what we were missing for 18 months! Pressing and showing intent up to the last second, not hanging back and soaking up pressure.

Our first comeback win from behind this season as well iirc? Well done, Mason!
we were 0-1 at St Mary's

One thing I'd say is that he looks less calamitous next to Toby. Calming influence.

They both looked less calamitous because they weren’t defending for the entire 90 minutes. This was the frustration of the Jose effect. We should’ve been discussing how shit Dier is after playing Man City or Chelsea away, not every single damn game against any opposition of any standard. Our centre backs should be barely lifting a finger against the relegation sides.

So I missed the second half as I had to take my lad to Scouts. When I left at Half Time it was doom and gloom and Mason out, I've just read the last couple pages and everyone seems to be buzzing.

What happened and is it just the result?

Agree mate.

Though his obvious boner for Bale was nauseating at times. Even called him Bale'o

3 points off 3rd with a good GD (with an extra game played). That's a bit crazy. Still very unlikely, but maybe we can dream for another week or so
