Like this team. Think los celso floating and helping the midfield might mean we control a game for once. Going to give dier the ben of the doubt, at min should give us shape.

Huge faith in the two at the back, think their pace is a smart move.
Traore plays off the flanks, where we have zero pace in Davies or Aurier... Long day ahead

Give me some of what you're having please

Mate it's like Jesus said "if you can fix it, why worry, if you can't fix it, why worry"
We've got no control over this and in reality anything can happen. If the team plays to its potential it can cause anyone problems.
So fuck it, might aswell be positive, unless you can share with me an advantage of being negative.

Hope it's Davies at CB and Tanganga at LB, at least when we are defending which should be often.

There is a fine line between positivity and deluded.. I think you may have crossed that line..

Seeing the line up has certainly not filled me with confidence.

I hope it's Dele through the middle with Bergwijn and Lucas playing off him.

If we are pursuing the shit football that we have done so far, of sitting deep with poor structure and just kicking it long then Lucas should just be told to spin in behind every time our defence has the ball

I'll be honest that team scares the hell.out of me but at least we've got some pace at the back.

It's a sad indictment of where we are at the moment that I'd bite your arm off for a point today but have the blind optimism that maybe Mourinho is about to pull a rabbit from the hat from somewhere and we can grab all 3.

No one is instructing our midfielders to pass directly to opponents and be second to every 50/50 ball. We aren’t controlling possession because of that and lack of a striker with canny movement up front. It’s little to do with tactics and a great deal to do with execution.

When you are being asked to play direct at the absence of that intelligent striker, at the earliest opportunity it's a tactical problem.

If you are asking the team to execute tactics they aren't suitable for its definitely something that needs to be dealt with tactically.

Are you suggesting we just repeat the same turgid and increasingly unsuccessful tactic although you recognise it lacks the personnel?

Good to see Tang at cb (Presumably, unless he’s playing behind Aurier)

but unless Dier is playing cb, very disappointed to see him in front of any of the other mids on the bench

hope we can sneak the first goal cos I can’t see us scoring as many as 2

Quite interesting note on sky sports that it’s 9 months to the day since we were in the champions league final and only 2 players who started in that that team are starting today! That’s quite a change!

I might be in the minority but I don't think it's necessarily that the tactics are the reason we're so poor, or that the players we have aren't good enough anymore. I think it's both. I think we try and play shit football with too many shit players on the pitch, resulting in a shit performance.

And today's snack choice of feck the diet I'm celebrating/cheering myself up is Bombay mix and T-bone flavour Roysters.

Dependant on events, the grandchildren's snack cupboard might just be getting a good seeing to also.
