Wolves don't have the team to sit back, they're going to go for it with a midfield and attack made up of those players. If they press our midfield and defence then they may well find a lot of joy because we struggle a shitload in those situations. Hopefully Bissouma is brought on quickly if it looks like the lads are starting to get turned over in there

Yeah, I mean obviously history does suggest that we're right to be cautious but at the same time it's all been about talking up wolves so far. Let's be positive about our team. Conte isn't a mug - he's an experienced coach.

Welcome to the SC match thread. After the pre-match moaning, we'll have moaning after three minutes, hissyfits after 20 minutes and if we go a goal down we guarantee that one specific guy will tell us all he's 'done watching this shit' and fuck off in a huff, there will also be about thirty misuses of the work 'shocking' and we'll be told a number of players 'need' to do this or that. This will be sprinkled with comments bearing no relation to events on the pitch and it's anybody's guess as to how we're actually playing.

I would copy Sky Sports tagline and say it only happens once but nah, on SC it's............ "it only happens every week"

So don't miss all the fun

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand it's live!

An absolutely incredible series of shit takes by “Spurs fans” on BBC Live Text today leading up to the game, some highlights:
John: In order to finish in the top four, we will need the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United to have bad seasons again. This season we will have more European games to fit in as well. Can’t see us finishing higher than fifth, unless we sign at least two more very good and suitable players, or come up with a system where we don’t rely on Kane and Son breakaways.

Connor: For all the hype this summer, we still haven't addressed three major weaknesses. The first being a top-four quality centre back to replace Dier, a competent right wing-back and a creative midfielder. The non-performance on Sunday should have convinced Conte that Lenglet, Bissouma and Perisic must start. It'll be fourth at best if we ignore these glaring weaknesses.

Topped off with this crowning pile of defeatist bollocks by this beardy twat:
Matt Burns, The Boy Hotspur

From a Spurs perspective the build-up to Sunday's derby had been an overtly optimistic tone. The mood within much of the fanbase and some quarters of the press was that our summer transfer activity had been resoundingly effective.

This feel-good factor has been to some degree been countered by Antonio Conte, who so far has failed to demonstrate much confidence in his new signings; neglecting to select any of them for a Premier League starting XI.

Perhaps some of this this underlying discontent influenced what became an increasingly graceless performance by Spurs, as witnessed by the poorly-timed tackle on Kai Havertz by Rodrigo Bentancur before we created our first goal, and the shameful hair pull by Cristian Romero on Marc Cucurella, just before our second.

A point retrieved from Chelsea away is certainly to be cherished, but one cannot help but feel we might have risen above yet another 'Battle of the Bridge' debacle.

Many will hail Spurs’ performance as resilient and sometimes pleasingly nasty, but had Anthony Taylor and his match officials been more on their marks, then a 10-man Tottenham losing 2-0 would have been far less appealing.

Tactically, Conte has plenty to ponder. The selection of Ryan Sessegnon over Ivan Perisic feels increasingly like a political one and Richarlison remains horribly overpriced at £60m.

Furthermore, the Italian’s wing-backs function with little authority, and the absence of any defined creativity in our midfield looks like an itch Antonio could end up spending the rest of the season failing to satisfactorily scratch.

That's a really strong looking Wolves team. Dependent on their new boys hitting the ground running this could be a tough one.

They are a tough prospect and have been since they got promoted in all honesty. But it’s a game we should be winning if we have big ambitions.

I can see us losing this in midfield when we get out numbered and dominated. They have a lot of pace for the quick break
