Lloris, Walker, Vertonghen, Wimmer, Rose, Wanyama, Dembele, Son, Alli, Eriksen, Janssen

These champions league games are more important than anything else right now, need to get a result really.

Any German footie watchers want to give us the lowdown on these guys? Saw they beat Dortmund but then lost to Bremen last time out.

Should we be going for a win or be satisfied with a draw? Who are they comparable with in the premier league in terms of style of play and in quality?

They play a very aggressive pressing style of football.

Yup, this is exactly how they beat Dortmund, they pressed them high up the pitch and were over physical. I think we need to play both Vic and Dembele in midfield as they won't be able to match them physically.

I didn't know if it was because of an injury, i seem to remember Poch saying CCV was keeping Wimmer off of the bench because he had done better in training.
I think Dier will start back there but I think CCV will be on the bench. I also liked Wimmer from the little I did see so I would like him to get a chance but I suppose Poch knows best.

Wimmer & Vertonghen = LCB
Alderweireld, Dier & CCV = RCB

Therefore, if it were Vertonghen out injured, Wimmer would be first in line. For the sub CB, it doesn't really matter whether they are right or left-sided, as it's 5-0/50 which would be needed.

When Dier starts on the bench and everyone is fit, it might make sense to have Davies as the only other sub defender (Dier covers RCB, RB & DM, while Davies covers LB). Other defenders might have to be patient for game time in the league.

CCV is a LCB though as well

brave move to drop Wanyama for a game like this

Can't see Poch leaving him out nor Winks or GKN starting on Tuesday to be honest

If they like to press and play a high line then this could be a great game for GKN to come in to so they have something to think about.

Is nkoudou ready to start yet? Would be tempted given lamela and sissoko didn't exactly set the world on fire on the weekend. Vince was good and so i have two opinions.

We play eriksen as a CM next to wanyama (he's been playing there recently anyway) and have nkoudou, son and dele in front of those two behind vince or we play dembele next to wanyama and have eriksen, dele and son behind vince with GKN and lamela coming off the bench at some point. Otherwise we could go the city tactics and play son up front.

Leverkusen is one of those good teams that for some reason I just have no idea how they play, so I'll have to trust Poch on this one. From watching a few youtube clips of them though it seems like a game for Sonny up top rather than Janssen. We'll see.

I think Wimmer should come in (although appreciate he's a left sided centre back) alongside Vertonghen. He knows the German league and has probably played against Leverkusen in the past.
