Mou said after the match Sissoko and Rose had problems. While I don't think we rely on them give them a break.
Sessegnon to support Sonny and Dier to support Sess defensively. I can imagine Lo Celso in the WInks role and would like to see him starting.
Wouldn't mind a start for Foyth either.

Probably too offensive for Jose but while we are mentally on a high I could see that working.

In terms of enforced changes, Rose will likely come in for Davies.

Beyond that I'd simply like to see GLC and Ndombele both play. Dier needs to keep playing. The more he plays (hopefully) the better he gets.

Either way it's just nice to be excited about games again instead of largely dreading them.

Would like to give Son a rest before next week when we have 3 Premier League games in 7 days. Vertonghen to play the role that Davies played v West Ham, Sessegnon to have the freedom to play high up on the wing and KWP to push up as high as Serge did on Sat. Now that we are not passing out from the keeper as much and hitting more balls deep I believe we can get away with Sissoko and Dier in midfield.

Whilst he may not be a heavy rotater like Poch. Jose will want to try and find opportunities where he can assess a few players with starts and those opportunities are going to be very few and far between once Olympiacos and Bayern are out the way I imagine.

Not too bothered but would like Lo Celso to get a start or a healthy amount of minutes to get rid of this nagging feeling that I have, based on absolutely nothing, that Lo Celso could be an odd man out under Mourinho ( didn’t like Eriksen coming on ahead of him at weekend ).

But Verts should be back apparently.

I’d be tempted with him at left back as Rose really does not inspire me at all these days, I think his head with us is gone.

Plus Poch could then play Aurier more offensively again with Vertonghen tucking in.

Would love to be proven wrong though as always loved seeing him at left back before. ?

Or maybe go the other way and have Foyth as defensive right back and Sessegnon attacking left back?

But Mourinho night have opinion that Son is better with a proper defensive left back behind him, like how Lennon thrived more with Stalteri or the legend that was Corkula behind him, rather than a Walker-type who got in his way.

I’d like to see Lo Celso given some game time but after how Moura / Dele / Son played you just can’t drop one of them as bad for morale - like dropping Moura in CL final last season. Sends out wrong message.

I think Jose will know as long as we do not lose we are through (as long as Red Star do not get a win against Bayern). As such I think a clean sheet will be his primary focus (and I think he will expect our forward to always score at least one goal however we play). So expect to see the same team, with the same caution (Dier and Winks not leaving the centre circle and 3 defenders staying back at all times).

The starting XI is what I think Jose will pick.

Eriksen - I would omit him as I don't think we need him anymore, out of form and uncommitted and I'd rather see our new signings (Sessegnon, Lo Celso and Ndombele) get priority. Even Lamela if he was fit.
