Perish the thought.
Short term appointment for a shot at a trophy. He then leaves the club in a mess whether he achieves it or not. Now I’m just speculating based on his previous but so is everyone else. It’s throwing away the solid foundations we’ve taken years to put down and should when Poch eventually goes, and that’s not based on the current speculative timings but only on the fact he isn’t immortal, I hope the club has more ambition to remain among the top clubs than to take on an absolute shitbag like Mourinho. Like hes the antidote to Spurs fans moaning. It’s laughable. There’s no cure.

The thing is, Poch has considerable value to the club financially. I cannot see Levy simply sacking him. He may hope Madrid come along with a pot of gold. Wasn’t there talk previously that Utd were willing to pay £50m to break his contract?

'Lost the dressing room' is one of those football sayings that lacks any sense of nuance. So are Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris now 'anti-Poch'? Does Harry Winks not like playing for Poch? I don't believe that. Are there some dynamics and personality clashes that need sorting out? Clearly. And this is a symptom of letting your squad go stale. The lack of new young players believing in Poch's way has possibly meant some of the more established players don't feel they need to kill themselves in training twice a day any more. Maybe the intensity has dropped off and Poch doesn't know how to get it back, and dropping Vertonghen is his attempt to do that. We all know Jan has pretty much downed tools in the past so he is a player that sometimes needs motivating. I think there's something in the idea that Poch is only a truly effective coach with younger players who are trying to improve, but not so much with established players who feel like they know their game inside out.

Certainly something is not right, but we've started seasons like this before under Poch and its evened itself out. I wouldn't be too quick to start writing his obituaries yet. I doubt DL would've spent £150M on Poch's targets if he had 'lost the dressing room'. Now is the time to not panic and be patient, get to the end of the transfer window and go with what we've got from there. The NLD is badly timed, though, I must say.

Do you trust Poch to keep us on track??? [/B]I'd say at least half of the managers in the PL would be capable of getting this squad a top 4 finish, that's pretty much par right now.
That is the million pound question that I for the first time since Poch joined am having serious problems answering.

May chime in why he wanted a overhaul of the squad.
He could have done this last season, you can't overhaul a squad in one window! It happens over time. Even buying young potential could have been achieved last season; rather than buying instant first team challengers.

It wouldn’t be the biggest surprise in light of his recent treatment of Vertonghen, a stalwart of many seasons and clearly a leader in the dressing room. This isn’t Andros Townsend after a shove, Danny Rose after opening his mouth or Toby Alderweireld after breaking a promise, this is someone who has been our first choice centre back for seven years, consistently amongst our best players, completely professional in all circumstances and also someone with whom everyone associated with the club identifies.

And Jan never causes any problems....and thats Not opinion....

So one ITK says Vertonghen is out for fitness reasons and another says he's heard Poch has lost the dressing room. I guess people will believe what they want to believe.

Fuck me i've been so comfortable in this little Pochettino bubble that i dont even know who out there could realistically replace him if/when that day comes.

i quite like daniel farke at norwich, though he'd very much be a continuation of the type of structure we have under pochettino, the club may want to go a different route for their next appointment. that said i think this storm will blow over soon so talk of new managers is futile.

Were fucked aren't we ffs. if the players aren't playing for him then all we can do is wait until he is replaced, already at this early stage Top 4 will be a struggle.

Obviously, a win at the Emirates will make this blow over. But it'll return soon enough if we don't start putting together a consistent run of good performances after the international break.

Not really we’ve been shite for a long time before the final. Cast your mind back to the 1st leg of the semi final, that was as bad as we’ve played in a long time.
In truth we have been poor for a long time look at the amount of defeats we suffered last year poor for a team that allegedly was challenging and competing in the CL.

Anyone but Val and I take it with a pinch of salt.

And on what planet do I want to believe that? I really don’t want to believe it as if it’s true then we’re in a very sticky situation, but it’s not exactly a far stretch.
