And Jan never causes any problems....and thats Not opinion....
I can believe that.

It’s all quite distressing but sadly all good things come to an end, and while I really want him to be the man to get us to the top, he might have just been the man to put us in a position to attract that person.

Hopefully this is more of a late 80s Alex Ferguson blip than a Chelsea style full revolt.

Wow if he has lost the dressing room as one thing he always had going for his was the players loved him, whether he was being a bit silly tactically or not.

Typical as we’ve just got Lo Celso in (who is very much his player) and Ndombele who Poch reckons he could perform magical wonders with.

His handling of Vertonghen though is moronic though to be quite frank.

'Lost the dressing room' is one of those football sayings that lacks any sense of nuance. So are Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris now 'anti-Poch'? Does Harry Winks not like playing for Poch? I don't believe that. Are there some dynamics and personality clashes that need sorting out? Clearly. And this is a symptom of letting your squad go stale. The lack of new young players believing in Poch's way has possibly meant some of the more established players don't feel they need to kill themselves in training twice a day any more. Maybe the intensity has dropped off and Poch doesn't know how to get it back, and dropping Vertonghen is his attempt to do that. We all know Jan has pretty much downed tools in the past so he is a player that sometimes needs motivating. I think there's something in the idea that Poch is only a truly effective coach with younger players who are trying to improve, but not so much with established players who feel like they know their game inside out.

Certainly something is not right, but we've started seasons like this before under Poch and its evened itself out. I wouldn't be too quick to start writing his obituaries yet. I doubt DL would've spent £150M on Poch's targets if he had 'lost the dressing room'. Now is the time to not panic and be patient, get to the end of the transfer window and go with what we've got from there. The NLD is badly timed, though, I must say.
Meanwhile City and Pool steam on ahead.

I said in the style of play thread yesterday and will say it again.

Neither Poch or the players look engaged with their roles all the moment. It really wouldn't surprise me if this plays out very quickly.

Lo celso and Ndombele were/are two of the most promising midfielders in Europe. Any manger would be happy to work with them.

Hello darkness my old friend...
I think the problem is that if he is trying to force out players for his 'change' then some would be kicking up a stink.
It only takes a few for the harmony of the squad to break.
Failing to get rid of the names, and then relying on them will be the downfall of this side.
They have to want to play for spurs to actually be playing.

This! We have a squad managers would love to work with, if Poch does not have the passion to do it anymore there are plenty that will. The ball is firmly in his court, a huge few weeks ahead.

Oh to be a fly on the wall in that dressing room!

As much as it's been (correctly) Poch under scrutiny like never before, I have to say it also leaves a bitter taste in my mouth on the players - particularly the 'star' names who have been visibly playing within themselves and not even fulfilling the effort levels.

There's enough smoke here now to suggest there's a raging fire burning and we all know the eventual outcome.....

Do you trust Poch to keep us on track??? I'd say at least half of the managers in the PL would be capable of getting this squad a top 4 finish, that's pretty much par right now.
Poch is doing it. We know that much. The rest are hypotheticals.

Wasn't his recent quote of taking over a club and 'introducing winning conditions' or words to that effect, it did unfortunately lead me to our club when he said it.

This isn't me advocating Mourinho at all necessarily but I can see the appeal from Levy's point of view.

Who would you want to come and manage us next
If we had to replace Poch tomorrow I'd probably go for Allegri. He's a likeable guy, great at keeping a dressing room happy, has experience of winning trophies at a big club and is the kind of pragmatist that would help us to win the big games.

If we couldn't get a 'big' established manager like Allegri or Ancellotti, an upcomer like Nagelsmann might be interesting, though he's v.young and would be a bit of a risk a la AVB (he's only 32 years old).

Only recently gone to Leipzig hasn't he but yes, looks like he would be a good fit.
